The Senior Production Planner leads production planning activities across multiple product lines or sites, ensuring alignment of capacity, materials, and resources with business objectives. This role provides strategic planning support, drives process improvements, and serves as a key advisor to operations leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of master production schedules that align with sales forecasts, capacity, and inventory strategies.
  • Analyze capacity constraints and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency.
  • Comprehend complex component drawings and process steps and translate the information into a production plan.
  • Create solutions to resolve capacity constraints and downtime immediately to reduce increase customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct scenario planning and capacity modeling to support business decisions.
  • Partner with leadership to align production plans with strategic goals specifically focused on cash flow improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency. Proactively identify issues and solve to root cause to prevent future impacts to the business.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to minimize material shortages and delays.
  • Lead daily tier meetings alongside production partners to foster collaboration and quick problem-solving to ensure production delays are minimized.
  • Act as subject matter expert for ERP/MRP planning systems and tools.
  • Mentor and develop planning team members, providing guidance on best practices in production planning and ERP systems.
  • Support NPI production projects through detailed planning and material requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report planning performance metrics to leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve escalated planning or supply chain challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive experience in production planning or supply chain.

• Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and capacity planning techniques.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Proven track record of driving improvements in production planning processes.
