Summary Description:
The Senior Production Planner owns the development and execution of SKU-level production schedules to meet customer demand while balancing capacity, material availability, and inventory targets. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify constraints, manage trade-offs, and proactively adjust plans in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The Senior Production Planner leverages ERP/MRP systems and data-driven insights to improve service, efficiency, and planning accuracy while supporting business growth.
What will your day look like?
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and machine and labor capacity.
- Partner closely with Production teams through frequent, daily communication to align priorities, address constraints, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Utilize Oracle ERP modules (Supply Chain Planning and Production Scheduling) to manage work orders, monitor progress, and adjust schedules in real time.
- Analyze MRP outputs to ensure raw materials and components are available to meet production requirements and timelines.
- Identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and planning risks; collaborate cross-functionally to recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update planning parameters, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and item master data within Oracle.
- Manage inventory levels to support service requirements while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Sales, and Logistics to align production output with customer needs and shipping schedules.
- Support new product launches, customer programs, and special initiatives through cross-functional collaboration.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma and operational planning enhancements.
- All other duties as assigned.

QualificationsWhat will you bring to the table?
Education &

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent relevant business experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on production planning or scheduling.
- Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle experience preferred).
Specific Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Understanding of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP) preferred.
