ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner with both exceptional business and technology acumen to lead the delivery and evolution of NAB’s high value payments engine.​

The role drives technology product vision, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and delivery execution for the Enterprise’s international payments capabilities – including real‑time gross settlement and SWIFT messaging.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Product strategy — Defines and owns product vision, roadmap and strategic priorities for the High‑Value Payments platform.​

• Agile delivery — Leads Agile product delivery at enterprise scale; defines epics, features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.​

• Payments transformation — Drives modernisation including cloud adoption, API enablement, ISO 20022 migration/optimisation and payment platform transformation. ​

• Stakeholder management — Partners with senior business stakeholders, operations leaders, technology teams and external vendors.​

• Enterprise delivery — Coordinates dependencies across multiple squads and enterprise programmes.​

• Regulatory compliance — Aligns platform delivery with bank governance, audit, security and compliance standards.​

• Backlog management — Prioritises based on business value, regulatory obligations, risk reduction and customer impact.​

• Operational resilience — Supports operational readiness, production support models and incident management.​

• Risk & controls — Manages delivery risks and dependencies proactively across the value chain.​

• Vendor management — Manages delivery across external vendors and partners.​

• Leadership & communication — Communicates product progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes to executive stakeholders.​

• Simplification — Works between technology and business to meet client need without bespoke, complex solutions.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of Product Owner experience within banking or financial services.​

• Proven delivery across modern technology – solid understanding of application platforms and architecture.​

• Strong domain expertise in high‑value payments and payment processing ecosystems (RTGS, SWIFT, cross‑border, treasury & liquidity settlement, screening & controls, payment repair & investigations).​

• Proven experience delivering complex enterprise payment transformation programmes in a technology environment.​

• Deep understanding of SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, cross‑border payments, payment operations and banking risk and control obligations.​

• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks in large enterprises.​

• Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.​

• Experience managing geographically distributed teams and vendors.​

• Able to work ‘between the lines’ of technology and business.
