
Lead product strategy and execution for Wealth Investment Platforms, reporting to the Head of Investment Platforms and serving as a senior partner in driving platform modernization and delivery. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy and technology, driving the modernization of the firm’s investment platform ecosystem to improve scalability, reduce complexity, and enhance advisor experience.
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for translating strategic direction into execution, defining platform capabilities and roadmaps, and ensuring delivery of high-visibility, enterprise initiatives with a high degree of ownership and accountability. This role requires deep technical fluency, strong program leadership, and the ability to operate independently while influencing senior stakeholders and driving disciplined execution across agile teams and cross-functional partners. This role also plays a critical leadership function by leading a group of agile product owners in executing against strategic priorities while elevating team capability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Partner with the Head of Investment Platforms to drive platform modernization, translating strategic priorities into clearly defined capabilities, scope, and execution plans.
Define and maintain the platform capability framework and roadmap, including current-state assessments, key gaps, and a sequenced plan aligned to business outcomes such as simplification, scalability, cost efficiency, and advisor experience.
Ensure platform priorities reflect advisor and client needs, leveraging structured feedback, issue trends, and usage insights to inform decisions
Lead execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives, with accountability for milestones, dependencies, risk management, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate across business, technology, and operations partners to ensure alignment, clear ownership, and effective execution across workstreams.
Establish and maintain strong execution and reporting discipline, including progress tracking, risk identification, and clear visibility to leadership.
Translate operational and process insights into actionable initiatives, focused on simplification, automation, and cost optimization.
Support team effectiveness by coaching Product Owners and improving delivery consistency, enabling the team to operate more independently and at higher quality.
Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable

The Senior Product Owner manages a team of Product Owners, including people, budget and planning, and manages activities through influence, accountability and ownership, functioning in an agile environment.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 14 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 10 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience
Proven business expertise with experience in setting clear priorities, understanding business value impacts and independent decision-making
Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities and quickly-changing landscape
Prior experience actively seeking out multiple opinions, yet making independent decisions and influencing positive outcomes
Understanding of Design Thinking principles
Knowledge of product design and development best practices
Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices
Experience working in partnership with user experience teams on product design
Experience developing/managing digital capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Specific subject matter expertise as required by assigned product
