Job Description

Internal Audit – SOX & ICFR Expertise to support Prompt Engineering of Agents

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit, SOX, and ICFR focused individual to design, develop, and optimize sophisticated prompts and agentic workflows that power fieldwork acceleration within an Internal Audit Management System. This role will focus on creating AI-driven agents that accelerate the creation of audit procedures, evidence orchestration (identification, requests, evaluation, and application), and test execution, including workpaper generation detailing test work completed. Initial focus will be on transactional testing (e.g., SOX/ICFR) with planned expansion to support all types of audit testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain advanced prompts and agent instructions for audit-specific AI use cases.
  • Translate audit methodologies, SOX requirements, ICFR frameworks, and organizational policies into structured AI workflows.
  • Develop AI agents that generate audit procedures, testing steps, control assessments, and workpaper documentation.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure outputs align with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine prompt performance for accuracy, consistency, explainability, and audit defensibility.
  • Establish prompt governance, testing, and quality assurance processes to minimize AI hallucinations and ensure reliable outputs.
  • Support integration of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge bases, and agent orchestration capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Internal Audit with a strong focus and competency in SOX compliance, ICFR, and control testing methodologies.
  • Ability to convert complex business and audit requirements into structured AI instructions and workflows.
  • Familiarity with audit documentation standards, workpapers, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in prompt engineering, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Internal Audit, Internal Control, External Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance.
  • Experience with AI agent platforms, workflow orchestration tools, and enterprise knowledge management systems.
  • Understanding of AI governance, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices.

Our Interview Practices

To maintain a fair and genuine hiring process, we kindly ask that all candidates participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts. Our interview process is designed to assess your individual skills, experiences, and communication style. We value authenticity and want to ensure we’re getting to know you—not a digital assistant. To help maintain this integrity, we ask to remove virtual backgrounds and include in-person interviews in our hiring process. Please note that use of AI-generated responses or third-party support during interviews will be grounds for disqualification from the recruitment process.

Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.
