Job Description

  • Shape a trusted, secure and low-friction home loan experience for thousands of Australians.

  • Lead customer protection capabilities across identity, authentication, behavioural intelligence, payments risk and fraud prevention.

  • Work with purpose in a product-led, outcome-driven culture focused on preventing financial harm before it occurs.

See yourself in our team:

At Unloan, we’re reimagining what home loans should be: simple, fast, and customer-first.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner – Customer Identity and Safety to shape how Unloan protects customers across every critical digital interaction. This is a direction-setting role with real impact: ensuring customers can access and manage their home loan safely, seamlessly and with confidence.

You and your team will help create a trusted, secure and low-friction home loan experience where protection is embedded into every critical customer interaction — from authentication and profile management through to payments, behavioural risk detection and fraud response.

Do work that matters:

As Senior Product Owner – Customer Identity and Safety, you’ll own the customer protection capabilities that keep Unloan safe, trusted and easy to use. Your team will ensure Unloan’s authentication processes, identity controls, profile management features, behavioural intelligence, payments protections and risk posture work together to prevent financial harm before it occurs. You’ll lead a cross-functional team that balances customer experience, security, fraud prevention, compliance and operational effectiveness — embedding protection into the moments that matter most without creating unnecessary friction for genuine customers.

What you’ll do

As Senior Product Owner – Customer Identity and Safety, you’ll lead a cross-functional team responsible for Unloan’s layered customer protection ecosystem, including:

  • Leading the product strategy and roadmap for Customer Identity and Safety across Unloan

  • Maturing a layered protection ecosystem across authentication, identity controls, profile management, behavioural intelligence, payments protection and fraud operations.

  • Preventing unauthorised access while ensuring seamless, low-friction access for genuine customers.

  • Detecting abnormal behaviour and intervening at moments of elevated risk.

  • Protecting customer access to funds and critical account or profile changes.

  • Educating and supporting customers so they can recognise, avoid and respond to potential harm.

  • Partnering with risk, fraud, cyber, legal, compliance, operations, data and technology teams to deliver safe, compliant and scalable outcomes.

  • Enabling effective fraud operations, investigation, reporting and continuous improvement.

You’ll set the strategy, prioritise the work, and lead talented product, technology, risk, fraud, operations and data specialists to deliver protections that are simple, compliant and genuinely helpful for customers.

What you’ll be accountable for

  • Owning the Customer Identity and Safety product strategy, roadmap and operating rhythm.

  • Reducing customer exposure to fraud, unauthorised access and financial harm.

  • Delivering secure, low-friction authentication and identity experiences.

  • Strengthening controls across profile management, payments and critical customer actions.

  • Establishing data-led behavioural intelligence and risk-based intervention capabilities.

  • Ensuring controls meet regulatory, compliance, privacy and risk obligations.

  • Building effective feedback loops with fraud operations, customer support and risk teams.

  • Leading a high-performing, inclusive cross-functional team.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Proven product leadership experience in digital identity, authentication, fraud prevention, financial crime, cyber safety, payments risk or adjacent customer protection domains.

  • Strong understanding of secure, low-friction digital customer experiences.

  • Experience operating in complex, regulated environments, ideally financial services.

  • Ability to balance customer experience, risk reduction, compliance and commercial outcomes.

  • Strong data-led decision-making capability, including use of behavioural insights, risk signals or operational metrics.

  • Excellent stakeholder management across product, technology, risk, fraud, cyber, legal, compliance and operations.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through discovery, delivery and operational maturity.

We operate in a hybrid working environment, meaning a blend between being in the office and working remote.
