Job Description

About the role
Burn is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Product Owner to join our Software team. In this role, you will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and the software development team — translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements while maintaining a deep understanding of technical constraints and implementation realities.
You will own the product journey from initial discovery through to deployment, leading demos, managing training, and overseeing the business side of go-live. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a practical, tech-savvy approach to product development

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering
  • Engage extensively with business stakeholders to understand, document, and validate requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships across business units to ensure product decisions are grounded in real user needs
  • Translate business requirements into clear briefs and user stories for the software development team.

  • Software Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the software development team to understand technical constraints, implementation limitations, and architecture considerations.
  • Act as the informed interface between business and engineering, ensuring requirements are both commercially meaningful and technically feasible.
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinement sessions, and stand-ups as required.

  • Prioritisation
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager Lead to prioritise the product backlog based on business value, effort, and strategic alignment.
  • Ensure the development team always has a clear and well-refined set of priorities to work against.
  • Product Mockups & Prototyping
  • Build product mockups and prototypes using AI-powered tools to facilitate early-stage alignment and stakeholder feedback.
  • Use visual artefacts to communicate product intent clearly before development begins.
  • Product Demos & Feature Confirmation
  • Lead product demonstrations prior to software development handover, ensuring stakeholder sign-off and feature confirmation.
  • Facilitate structured feedback sessions to validate that the proposed solution meets business requirements before build commences.

  • Delivery & Final Demo
  • Present the completed product to stakeholders upon delivery, demonstrating that agreed requirements have been met.
  • Manage feedback and coordinate any post-demo refinements or acceptance sign-off.

  • Training & Deployment (Business Side)
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for business users ahead of deployment.
  • Oversee the business-side aspects of deployment, including readiness assessments, user communication, and go-live support.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for business users during the transition period post-launch

Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product end-to-end, from discovery through to delivery and iteration.
  • Strong proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); certified PO/PM (e.g. CSPO, PSPO) preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage a complex backlog.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven or energy/cleantech environment.
  • Familiarity with product management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Productboard, Figma).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working with cross-functional, distributed teams.
Qualified Female Candidates encouraged to Apply
