Overview

Windows powers more than a billion devices worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead Windows Personalization experiences by identifying meaningful customer problems, define a clear product strategy, and lead cross-functional teams from discovery through delivery.

Our team is reimagining what Windows can be by building the next generation of Windows experiences that combine customer insights, innovation, and AI to empower every user to personalize and customize their PC in ways that reflect their unique preferences, needs, and identity.

In this role, you will lead Windows Personalization across Settings and connected operating-system experiences. You will define a scalable product strategy, strengthen foundational experiences, and develop differentiated capabilities that give customers more ways to personalize and customize their PCs.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Windows Personalization.
  • Lead product development from customer discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Use customer research, telemetry, and A/B experimentation to evaluate hypotheses, prioritize opportunities, and measure outcomes.
  • Partner with engineering and design leaders to balance customer experience, system performance, reliability, resource efficiency, and delivery considerations.
  • Align cross-functional teams across a complex organization, including partners outside the immediate team, and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Use AI tools to support prototyping, insight generation, and product development.
  • Champion inclusive design, accessibility, privacy, security, and customer trust throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing products from discovery and strategy through launch and iteration.
  • Experience using customer insights, data, telemetry, and A/B experimentation to inform product priorities and decisions.
  • Experience partnering across engineering, design, research, and other disciplines, including influencing teams outside the immediate organization.
  • Experience delivering platform-level capabilities within Windows, mobile operating systems, or other large-scale platforms.
  • Experience delivering consumer personalization or customization experiences, such as settings, themes, wallpapers, sounds, cursors, or related capabilities.
  • Experience developing differentiated, accessible, customer-focused products or platform capabilities at scale.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
