Job Description

You crave a career that pushes you, where you'll meet challenges head on and you're guaranteed to grow.

Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.

In this role, you'll:

Join the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) team in the Commercial and Energy Management Brach, within Finance, Technology & Commercial division. As a Senior Product Manager you will play a pivotal part in understanding SCATS customers’ needs and shaping a long-term product vision and strategy that delivers strong customer and business outcomes. You will champion the SCATS product vision across teams and ensure alignment between customers, stakeholders and delivery teams around a cohesive product roadmap.

SCATS is a critical system for Transport for NSW and its global customer base -improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and helping keep over one billion people safe every day. In addition to delivering network optimisation and safety outcomes, SCATS underpins Transport for NSW’s broader technology agenda and strengthens NSW’s position as a global leader in innovation and transport technology.

In this role, you will develop a compelling product vision and strategy for various products, including NGEN, SPE and Cornerstone, outlining how the product suite will evolve, defining its value proposition, and ensuring it meets customer needs.

You will also:

  • Engage with customers to understand their pain points and priorities, using these insights to shape and refine a practical product roadmap.
  • Monitor market trends and provide competitive analysis to guide product investment decisions that balance market direction, commercial priorities and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to communicate, promote and embed the SCATS product vision, supporting alignment and clarity across teams.
  • Contribute to embedding best-practice product management, including tools, processes and frameworks, to support the growth of a market and customer-led SCATS business.

With a solid understanding of technology, you’ll bring strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with design and engineering specialists in a technical, solutions-focused way to ensure alignment to a shared vision.

Highly skilled in data analysis, market research and understanding customer needs, you will have a clear grasp of product vision and strategy, and the confidence to guide sound, evidence-based investment decisions.
