
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager (m/f/d) with deep expertise in German payroll to support the development and delivery of payroll solutions for an international technology company.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert for German payroll requirements and work closely with customers, engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams. You will translate complex payroll regulations and compliance requirements into clear product requirements and help deliver user-centric payroll solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Your Responsibilities:
Product Management & German Payroll
Serve as a subject matter expert for German payroll requirements, regulations, tax, social security, and compliance
Research and monitor German payroll legislation and regulatory developments.
Conduct market and regulatory research to identify and validate product requirements.
Translate complex payroll and compliance requirements into clear product requirements and user stories.
Own and manage a prioritized product backlog from concept through execution.
Work closely with development and QA teams to clarify requirements and support successful product delivery.
Product Development & User Experience
Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact product improvements.
Maintain a strong focus on the end-user experience and develop intuitive solutions for complex payroll processes.
Contribute to product strategy, roadmap development, and continuous product improvement.
Collect, analyze, and prioritize feedback from customers, end users, executives, partners, and other stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve automation, compliance, and efficiency within payroll solutions.
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a key bridge between product teams, customers, and commercial stakeholders.
Support sales teams during complex customer engagements and product-related discussions.
Contribute to customer deployment and implementation strategies.
Support successful customer onboarding and help address complex payroll-related requirements.
Present product concepts, solutions, and payroll-related topics to customers and senior stakeholders.
Your Profile:
What You Bring
10+ years of professional experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, Senior Payroll Manager, or in a comparable role.
Deep understanding of German payroll legislation, tax, social security, ITSG requirements, and compliance frameworks
Strong ability to translate complex regulatory and business requirements into clear product requirements and user stories.
Experience working cross-functionally with development, QA, design, customers, and other stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex and changing regulatory environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and customers.
Fluent or native-level German and English.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, or equivalent practical experience in HR, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to Have
Experience with enterprise payroll software or SaaS solutions.
Experience in sales enablement, technical pre-sales, customer deployment, or implementation strategy
Experience with AI/ML to support automation, compliance, anomaly detection, or intelligent insights in payroll or financial systems.
Strong understanding of cloud-native SaaS, software product design, and UX/UI principles
Experience working in an Agile product development environment
Experience with enterprise payroll platforms
Experience presenting at conferences, trade shows, or executive briefings
