About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, customer-obsessed Senior Product Manager to lead GridBeats™ Device Management (DvM) — a core component of GridBeats™, our portfolio of software-defined automation solutions for grid digitalization.

GridBeats™ DvM is a powerful software suite enabling remote monitoring, control, and lifecycle management of grid intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) — including protection relays, fault recorders, power quality meters, and sensing equipment. Designed for distribution and transmission utilities, renewable operators, and industrial customers, DvM enhances operational efficiency, cybersecurity, and system resilience.

As Senior Product Manager, you will own product strategy, discovery, and delivery — working directly with customers and cross-functional teams to build solutions that solve real problems, deliver measurable outcomes, and shape the future of grid automation.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy

• Define and own a compelling, outcome-driven product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned with GridBeats™ business goals.
• Translate market insights and customer problems into prioritized opportunities with measurable business outcomes — not just a list of features.
• Make crisp, well-reasoned prioritization decisions and align senior stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and executive leadership.

Customer & Market Discovery

• Conduct continuous customer discovery — engaging operators, protection engineers, and utility leaders to uncover deep pain points and unmet needs.
• Monitor competitive dynamics, regulatory trends (NERC CIP, IEC 61850, IEC 62351), and technology shifts to inform strategy.
• Represent GE Vernova at industry events and conferences (DistribuTECH, CIGRE, etc.).

Business Strategy & Commercial Ownership

• Own and maintain the multi-year business case including revenue forecasts, cost-to-build, margin targets, and investment prioritization.
• Define and own the software licensing model and policy — including license types (subscription, perpetual, term-based), optional module packaging, asset-count or capacity-based tiers, and yearly extension terms.
• Establish and govern the software lifecycle policy for DvM releases — including version support windows, end-of-life timelines, upgrade path commitments, and security patch obligations — balancing customer operational risk with engineering sustainability.
• Lead strategic decisions on deployment and go-to-market models — evaluating and recommending the appropriate mix of on-premises, cloud-hosted, hybrid, and SaaS delivery options per customer segment — and ensure these choices are reflected in pricing, contracts, and partner channel strategy.

Product Definition & Delivery

• Lead the full product lifecycle — from concept and business case through requirements, development, launch, and post-launch iteration.
• Lead all release front-end activities — defining and owning business and product requirements across each release cycle, whether operating within a structured gate process or an Agile sprint/PI Planning cadence.
• Write crisp, outcome-focused product artifacts — opportunity canvases, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that communicate intent without over-specifying solutions. Ensure requirements are baselined, traceable, and accepted by key stakeholders before development commitment.
• Work in close collaboration with commercial, engineering, design & delivery teams.

Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement

• Partner with Marketing to develop impactful messaging, collateral, and campaigns across all channels.
• Work with global sales teams to build key customer relationships, execute go-to-market strategies, and deliver product training and awareness programs.

Performance & Metrics

• Define and track product KPIs — including adoption, retention, time-to-value, financial results, and market share.
• Use quantitative and qualitative evidence to drive decisions and implement continuous improvement or course corrections.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in product management, including 3+ years leading industrial or enterprise B2B software products.
• Experience building modern software products using containers and microservices architectures, supporting multiple deployment models (on-premise, cloud, SaaS).
• Proficiency in data-driven decision-making — defining metrics, running analyses, and navigating ambiguity to develop and communicate product strategy.
• Hands-on experience with modern product innovation methodologies — Product Discovery, Lean Startup, Design Thinking, or similar.
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools to accelerate core PM workflows (e.g. customer discovery synthesis, PRD drafting, competitive analysis, opportunity sizing, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile and other NPI methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively with globally distributed, cross-functional teams; willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with electrical utilities, smart grid, device management, protection relays, SCADA, fault recorders, IoT, or industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities in product strategy and roadmap decisions and AI-based prototyping to accelerate product discovery and validation cycles.
• MBA or advanced degree — highly desired

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $118,600.00 and $197,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
