Australia's largest bank is building a new eCommerce payments platform — andwe'relooking for product people who know payments inside out to help us get it right.

Connected Paymentsis our next-generation merchant payment acceptance platform, launching in 2026. It'sa significant investment in how CommBank enables businesses to accept payments online — andwe'relooking to grow our product team with the depth andexpertiseto ensure it launches strong and evolves to be the best in market.

This role sits within the eCommerce crewin the Payment Acceptance domain, part of Everyday Business Banking (EBB) — a centre of excellence for innovation and capability within the Group.

The role

We'relooking for a Senior Product Managerwho brings deepexpertisein eCommerce payments and the strategic maturity to shape how a major platform evolves. Youwon'tjust own a roadmap —you'llset the standard for how product is done across the crew.

This is a senior product strategy and leadership roleYou'lldrive the product vision for a significant area of Connected Payments, influence prioritisation across the domain, and bring the payments depth that lifts the capability of everyone around you. Your world will span payment acceptance across multiple methods and channels, dynamic routing and transaction optimisation, platform resilience, fraud and security, merchant insights, and developer integration experience.

Do work that matters

As a Senior Product Manager on Connected Payments, you will:

  • Drive the product vision and roadmap for a significant area of the platform, making complex trade-off decisions informed by merchant needs, competitive intelligence, schemeroadmapsand commercial opportunity

  • Lead product strategy that differentiates Connected Payments in the Australian market —identifyingwhere we leapfrog, where we match, and where we invest next

  • Set the standard for continuous discovery — embedding experimentation, hypothesis-drivendevelopmentand evidence-based decision-making into how the crew works

  • Lead the merchant experience lens — aligning customer journeys, user research and feedback loops with team priorities and stakeholder needs

  • Elevate paymentsexpertiseacross the crew — coaching others on scheme economics, checkout dynamics, settlementflowsand the broader eCommerce ecosystem

  • Translate commercial opportunity into product decisions —determiningROI, shaping pricing inputs and linking feature investment to merchant activation,revenueand competitive positioning

  • Lead in a complex regulated environment — advising on scheme compliance, regulatory obligations and operational risk, and presenting to governance forums and senior leadership

  • Collaborate across cross-functional squads including Technology, Risk, Operations, Go-to-Market, Sales Enablement and Customer teams

  • Measure what matters — approval rates, checkout conversion, merchant NPS, activation and revenue — and use it to influence prioritisation and investment decisions

We'reinterested in hearing from people who have

  • Deep eCommerce paymentsexpertiseyou'velived this space for years and understand how online payments work end-to-end, from checkout through authorisation,clearingand settlement

  • Scheme and network fluency— Visa, Mastercard, eftpos, Amex — including interchange, tokenisation, 3DS and how theyimpactmerchants. You canadviseothers on regulatory and scheme implications

  • Significant gateway, acquirer,processoror payment orchestration platform experience— from a product management perspective, with a track recordof shaping product direction

  • Proven product leadershipyou'veowned and evolved a product roadmap, driven strategic prioritisation, and influenced senior stakeholders with compelling performance insights and commercial reasoning

  • Advanced discovery and experimentation capability— you embed hypothesis-driven development and evidence-based decisions into team ways of working, not just your own

  • Strong customer and user experience orientation— you align customer journeys with team and stakeholder needs, and ensure user research is woven into the product development process

  • ComfortleveragingAI and data toolsto support product decisions and ways of working

  • Awareness of the competitive landscape— you stay across what global and local PSPs are doing, and you have a view on what matters

  • Advanced regulatory and governance capability— you can advise on compliance obligations, present to governance forums, and coach others on the regulatory environment

  • Confidence leading through ambiguity— you make timelydecisions when information is incomplete and role model adaptability for others
