Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as Senior Product Manager, Cards and Payment Products

This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. UNITE is about delivering 'one best way' to make our processes, systems and tech simpler so we can deliver a better experience for our customers and make things easier for our people.

  • Location: Sydney-based role only
  • On-site Requirement: 3 days per week in the office
  • Why On-site? This is a highly collaborative position involving regular face-to-face workshops and close team interaction, making in-office presence essential.

What’s the role?

As a Senior Product Manager, you will support the end-to-end transition of Cash & Transactional Banking products through the UNITE program, driving card simplification, migration, and platform rationalisation to enable a simpler bank. Positioned within the Chief Transformation Office, this role ensures delivery outcomes align with the Group’s strategy and transformation priorities, while leading card product builds and migration strategies to support future-state readiness.

Additionally, you’ll partner closely with the Service Owner to shape and execute the card migration roadmap, delivering simplification, migration, and decommissioning outcomes in line with UNITE objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for customer and card migrations, while owning backlog prioritisation and refining work across transition initiatives.

You will monitor delivery progress, proactively manage risks and controls, and escalate key blockers to leadership to maintain momentum. You will also contribute to the overall UNITE delivery rhythm, supporting portfolio performance and continuously improving delivery maturity across the program.

What do I need?

  • Strong experience in product ownership or product management within banking or financial services.
  • Solid understanding of cards and payments product suite, including customer journeys and lifecycle.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale customer and product migration initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product delivery in complex, transformation-led environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum practices.
  • Experience prioritising and managing product backlogs to deliver business and customer outcomes.
  • Certification in SAFe Product Manager or Product Owner is beneficial.
