The Opportunity:
Postmedia is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Audience & Commerce, with a focus on Books, to lead the product strategy, roadmap, and audience experience for a new national books platform designed to celebrate Canadian reading culture while driving engagement, loyalty, commerce, and audience growth.
Working closely with the Executive Producer, Books, this role will define and optimize the digital experience across web, mobile, newsletters, search, community, branded content and affiliate commerce. The successful candidate will combine strong product management expertise with audience growth, analytics, and monetization capabilities to create a scalable platform that supports both editorial excellence and commercial performance.

Key Objectives
• Build and scale a best-in-class digital books destination across Postmedia's network.
• Drive audience growth, engagement, and loyalty through optimized user experiences.
• Develop product capabilities that support affiliate commerce, newsletters, community participation, and reader retention.
• Leverage data and experimentation to improve audience acquisition, conversion, and lifetime value.
• Establish a scalable product foundation that supports future vertical expansion and new revenue opportunities.

What you’ll do:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Books platform.
• Translate editorial, audience, and business objectives into prioritized product initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve discovery, engagement, retention, and monetization.
• Develop business cases and success metrics aligned with audience and revenue goals.
• Maintain and prioritize a product backlog that balances audience needs, editorial requirements, and business outcomes.
Audience Experience & Growth
• Design and optimize user journeys across content discovery, newsletters, membership, and affiliate commerce experiences.
• Partner with audience development teams to improve SEO performance, recirculation, engagement, and repeat visitation.
• Develop personalization and recommendation strategies that increase content consumption and loyalty.
• Improve registration and authentication experiences to strengthen first-party audience relationships.
• Identify opportunities to deepen reader engagement through community features, rankings, reader voting, and interactive experiences.
Commerce & Monetization
• Lead the development and optimization of affiliate commerce experiences across reviews, rankings, and recommendation content.
• Partner with sales and affiliate teams to identify new monetization opportunities.
• Develop frameworks for sponsored content integrations that preserve audience trust and editorial integrity.
• Optimize conversion funnels, merchandising opportunities, and revenue-generating user journeys.
• Measure and improve affiliate performance, conversion rates, and revenue contribution.
Data & Analytics
• Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks for audience growth, engagement, loyalty, and commerce performance.
• Analyze user behavior, content performance, newsletter engagement, and conversion metrics.
• Lead experimentation and A/B testing initiatives to improve user experience and business outcomes.
• Use audience insights and behavioral data to inform roadmap prioritization and product decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Serve as the primary product partner to the Executive Producer, Books.
• Collaborate closely with editorial, affiliate, design, engineering, audience development, analytics, subscriptions, advertising, and sales teams.
• Align stakeholders around product priorities, roadmaps, and performance goals.
• Communicate product strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Coordinate with platform and shared services teams to leverage existing capabilities while building differentiated experiences.

Who you are:
• 5+ years of product management experience in digital media, publishing, commerce, consumer technology, or content platforms.
• Proven experience launching and scaling audience-focused digital products.
• Strong understanding of SEO, audience engagement, content discovery, and retention strategies.
• Experience with affiliate commerce, subscriptions, memberships, or digital monetization models.
• Demonstrated ability to use analytics and experimentation to drive product decisions.
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Familiarity with editorial publishing workflows and content management systems is an asset, including WordPress VIP and Elementor.
• Passion for books, culture, lifestyle, or content-driven consumer experiences is considered an asset.

Compensation:
Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
Base Salary: $80,000 - 95,000
