We are the MOTOTRBO Devices product planning team - a diverse and global team of passionate, driven and innovative individuals working on developing products and solutions that are used to solve for safer in critical communications & workflows worldwide.
As part of Motorola Solutions' PCR (Professional and Commercial Radio) business, our solutions are omnipresent in many verticals important in everyday lives such as healthcare, public safety, transportation, logistics, education, hospitality, energy, manufacturing and retail.
We are looking for a passionate, driven and innovative leader to join our team.
You will be responsible for leading the development of new and innovative products and solutions for MOTOTRBO devices at an exciting and critical junction of our journey.
In addition, we will look to you to be the key interface to the North America Sales team and our Customers in North America, as well as a key leader in customer research worldwide.
The Product Manager is the mini-CEO of their product/offer. They analyze customer environment, market and competitive conditions and lay out product vision that solves the market problem and delivers value to the customer. They will do this by defining the ‘why’, ‘what,’ ‘where’, and ‘when’ of the product that the development team will build. They are the owner of their product -- which means they lead cross-functional teams from a product's conception through to its launch. Their responsibilities will span many activities from strategic to tactical and provide cross-functional leadership — bridging gaps within the company between different functions, especially between development, supply chain, finance, sales and marketing, and service and support. Post-launch, product managers monitor their portfolio and identify and implement actions to boost the performance of the portfolio. This includes sunsetting products if required.
The product manager is responsible for setting a product vision and strategy. Their job is to clearly identify the problem the product is solving and the value to the customer and to Motorola Solutions. They will need to be able to articulate this to the cross functional team including sales and senior management so they understand the intent behind the new product or product release. They own the strategy behind the product along with its roadmap and must work with development to define, prioritize and build what matters.
Product managers must plan for what their teams will deliver and when they will deliver it. The product manager owns the HW and SW release aspects of the product. Release responsibilities include managing HW and SW features and dependencies in and across releases, product and support teams; and managing releases with phases and milestones.
Collecting, curating, and promoting the most relevant ideas into features. Defining which ideas should be promoted to features to achieve key objectives for the product line and business. Soliciting feedback and requests from customers and field teams and ensuring this is seamlessly integrated into the product planning and development processes.
Responsible for making product decisions and often is the lead resource for the rest of the organization when deep product expertise is required. This includes supporting the organizations that help bring the product to market and work directly with customers including marketing, sales, training and support services.
