Which team is this in

The Senior Product Manager sits within Global Technology as part of the Launchpad Tribe. The mission of the ‘Data Intelligence’ pillar of Launchpad is to make it easy to understand, protect & leverage REA data. Global Technology is maturing REA’s self‑service data platform to enable our federated data operating model. The Senior Product Manager – Data Intelligence is accountable for building and evolving the data platform capabilities that allow data domain owners and data product owners to easily produce, govern, publish, discover and consume high‑quality data products at scale.

This role is hands‑on and delivery‑focused. You will lead discovery, prioritisation, and delivery of data platform capabilities that reduce friction for data producers and consumers, embed governance and guardrails by default, and accelerate value from data and AI use cases. Working closely with engineering, architecture, data management, data business partners and data domain teams, you will translate our strategic data vision into concrete, scalable platform capabilities – including areas such as data marketplace, data quality and health, data contracts and automated governance that are intuitive to use and deliver measurable impact.

Day to day of the job

  • Own the product vision and strategy for self‑service data platform capabilities that enable data mesh at REA.
  • Lead continuous discovery with data producers, consumers, and platform users to deeply understand needs, constraints, and pain points.
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability, scalability, reliability, data quality, data health and adoption of the data platform.
  • Drive the end‑to‑end delivery of core data mesh enabling capabilities, from discovery through to launch and iteration.
  • Partner closely with data engineers, software engineers, and architects to shape solutions that are technically sound and product‑led.
  • Make informed build vs buy recommendations using industry research and internal context.
  • Ensure platform capabilities support key data mesh needs.
  • Own and maintain a clear, outcome‑driven product roadmap aligned to REA’s data and AI priorities.
  • Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term platform scalability and sustainability.
  • Partner with the Head of Data, Data Management, Architecture, and Data Business Partners to ensure platform capabilities align to the federated data operating model.
  • Work closely with product and technology leaders across the business to ensure platform solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
  • Drive successful rollout and adoption of platform capabilities across data domains and with data product owners.
  • Define and track success measures such as usage, adoption, reliability, data quality and health indicators, time‑to‑value, and customer satisfaction.

Who we’re looking for

  • Approximately 5+ years’ experience in Product Management or Product Development, with ownership of complex platforms or technical products.
  • Proven experience analysing and synthesise information on the market to determine an appropriate strategic approach whilst taking a whole business perspective, following these strategies through to benefit realisation.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data‑driven decisions and communicate insights using data and visualisation.
  • Proven experience working closely with technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building or managing platform products, ideally in data, analytics, or developer‑focused environments.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, security, and compliance concepts.
  • Strong product discovery skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into clear product outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating in complex, cross‑functional environments.
  • Experience building self‑service data platforms or data infrastructure products is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to data mesh, data‑as‑a‑product, or federated data models is beneficial.
  • Experience designing or delivering data contracts, data quality frameworks, data marketplace or observability capabilities is ideal.
