About the team

You will work in Fleet Experience that is responsible for building products that make it easy for our customers to invest in crypto. Your role, as Product Manager, will be to find customer value. You will apply the craft of Product Management to find customer problems and validate potential solutions to those problems.

The role in a nutshell

Luno is a market leading cryptocurrency exchange in emerging markets. Having earned our customers’ trust through the ups and downs of multiple crypto cycles, Luno continues to expand its cryptocurrency and digital assets offering in line with its strategy in service of its customers’ needs around the world.

We are looking for a crypto-minded Product Manager that will own the maintenance and expansion of our universe of crypto and digital assets listed on the platform. The role owns the lifecycle of all blockchain-related products and infrastructure, as well as custody of those assets. You define and execute the strategy for token listings, blockchain integrations, custody, staking, on-chain analytics, and Web3 services. You act as the bridge between the exchange’s core platform and the evolving blockchain ecosystem, ensuring scalability, compliance, and innovation.

This role drives innovation through customer discovery ensuring that Luno is the pre-eminent exchange in its core markets.

Your mission will be

• List cryptocurrencies and digital assets on Luno’s platform in accordance with our digital asset strategy.
• Develop and manage the product roadmap for all blockchain and crypto-related initiatives, including integrations with new Layer-1 and Layer-2 networks.
• Lead evaluation and execution of new token listings, coordinating with legal, compliance, and risk teams for successful launches.
• Collaborate with product, data science, marketing and legal teams to ensure a coherent end-to-end coin delivery process:
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate blockchain nodes, wallets, and smart contract systems
• Define technical and functional requirements for blockchain infrastructure and API enhancements.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across trading, compliance, risk, and custody to ensure operational readiness that supports liquidity across Luno’s crypto products.
• Analyze blockchain data and market trends to identify new opportunities for user acquisition and retention.
• Ensure compliance with AML/KYC and blockchain travel rule frameworks.
• Where required, build relationships with blockchain foundations, ecosystem partners, and external technology vendors.
• Use your crypto experience to identify areas of innovation in adjacent product opportunities in the crypto industry and drive collaboration in our product teams to unlock these opportunities.
• Influence and educate teams in blockchain technology and crypto currencies across the business.

A little about you

• You have at least 3 years experience as a Product Manager, and responsible for launch of new products and features, preferably within the fintech or cryptocurrency industry.
• Evidence that you are a subject matter expert in blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies. Experience with smart contracts and tokenisation of assets a bonus.
• Understanding of the theory and fundamentals of underlying crypto economic systems traversing the social, protocol and application layers.
• Demonstrated understanding of the cryptocurrency asset ecosystems evolving around the leading blockchains.
• Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to both create and implement a strategy of your own making, preferably in the fintech or crypto industry.
• Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile manner for continuous delivery, both to integrate with third-parties, and in developing new fintech and/or crypto products.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire with a clear passion for this space when communicating to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong track record of internal and external stakeholder management
