Senior Product Engineer

Location - New York City, NY (Onsite)

Compensation - $180,000 – $270,000 Base + Equity (0.25% – 0.8%)

Visa - No Visa Sponsorship Available

Company Stage - Early-Stage Startup (YC W23, $2.7M Raised, 5+ Years Runway)

Its platform powers tens of millions of dollars in construction activity and helps infrastructure companies streamline workflows, reduce operational overhead, and manage projects more efficiently.

Backed by Y Combinator and leading venture investors, the company has achieved seven-figure revenue within its first 18 months while operating without a dedicated sales team. Over the past year, the business has grown rapidly, expanding its customer base 5x and launching multiple new products.

The team is now hiring a Senior Product Engineer to help scale both the product and engineering organization during the next phase of growth.

What You'll Do

  • Own customer-facing product development from concept through deployment
  • Work across the entire stack to build new product functionality and improve existing systems
  • Partner directly with customers to understand workflows and identify opportunities for product improvement
  • Translate business problems into intuitive product experiences and scalable technical solutions
  • Design and implement user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data models
  • Influence product direction, roadmap decisions, and engineering best practices
  • Collaborate closely with founders and leadership on company strategy and execution
  • Build high-quality software with strong attention to user experience, reliability, and maintainability
  • Participate in system design discussions and architectural decision-making
  • Help shape the future engineering culture and mentor less experienced engineers

Ideal Candidate Background

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer
  • Experience operating at Senior or Staff Engineer level
  • Strong product-oriented engineering background
  • Experience owning customer-facing products end-to-end
  • Experience working in startup environments with significant ownership
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product direction and business outcomes
  • Experience working closely with customers, stakeholders, or end users
  • Experience at high-caliber technology companies or fast-growing startups preferred
  • Evidence of career progression, promotions, leadership growth, or increasing responsibility

Technical Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals
  • Experience building production software systems
  • Experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js preferred
  • Experience designing scalable product architectures
  • Strong system design and software architecture skills
  • Experience building user-facing SaaS products
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working across frontend, backend, and database layers
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and modern web application development
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong academic background from a highly regarded university or engineering program preferred
