Summary
The Senior Product Development Business Analyst supports product development initiatives for Prosperity Life’s annuity and life insurance portfolio by managing product requirements, documentation, and cross-functional coordination from concept through launch. This role partners closely with Actuarial, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, and external third-party administrators to translate product strategy into clear, executable specifications and support timely, well-governed product delivery.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong insurance product knowledge, disciplined execution skills, and the ability to work across organizational boundaries. This role also plays a key part in post-launch execution by maintaining product documentation, supporting operational readiness, and ensuring ongoing alignment as products move into steady-state administration.
Key Responsibilities, Product Requirements, & Documentation
- Develop and maintain Preliminary Product Offering (PPO) documents that translate product concepts into structured specifications.
- Support and contribute to Business Requirements Document (BRD) development, ensuring requirements are clear, complete, and aligned with approved product design.
- Maintain requirements traceability and documentation accuracy throughout development, testing, launch, and post-launch changes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate activities and information flow across Actuarial, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, and third-party administrators.
- Support tollgate reviews, decision tracking, and approval coordination across the product development lifecycle.
- Track risks, dependencies, and action items, escalating issues as needed to support delivery timelines.
Contract & Administrative Support
- Assist with contract development and administration activities, including drafting supporting documentation and coordinating reviews.
- Track responses, approvals, and execution status, helping to resolve delays or outstanding items.
- Support alignment between contract terms, product specifications, and implementation timelines.
Regulatory, Launch & Day-Two Support
- Support coordination of regulatory filing activities, including tracking state filing and approval status.
- Assist with responses to DOI inquiries and monitor approval timelines.
- Support launch readiness and post-launch execution by maintaining product documentation, supporting operational questions, and coordinating updates or enhancements as products move into steady-state administration.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve product development processes, documentation standards, and cross-functional coordination.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable templates, tools, and institutional knowledge to support scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of annuity and/or life insurance products, features, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in business analysis, product development, or product implementation within the insurance industry.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality business and technical documentation.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and with external partners.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
