Job Description

Senior Product Counsel

Department: Privacy∏ Compliance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Cyprus

We are looking for a Senior Product Counsel to take central legal ownership of product compliance across inDrive's products, features, and market operations. This role sits at the intersection of regulatory compliance, product development, and commercial strategy — serving as the embedded legal-product partner to Product, Engineering, Regional Operations, and the Business Model & Monetization functions.

The Counsel covers the full breadth of core Product Compliance work — from translating regulatory requirements into actionable product requirements, through new-market launch readiness and ongoing market monitoring, to platform rules and app-store compliance — with a particular emphasis on the transactional and commercial dimension of inDrive's business: monetization features, payment flows, business-model initiatives, and the user-facing terms that govern them.

How the role works with specialists. On highly specialised matters (e.g. tax, privacy, or jurisdiction-specific regulatory questions), substantive guidance originates from expert colleagues. The Counsel partners with those experts, translates their guidance into clear product requirements, and drives them through to implementation — while independently owning the broader product-compliance and commercial-legal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal product requirements. Own the process by which country-specific regulatory analysis is converted into requirements for product teams, and drive roadmap planning and prioritisation.

2. Transactional & commercial compliance. Provide legal compliance support for monetisation features, payment flows, and business-model initiatives.

3. Launch support. Carry out compliance due diligence and legal-readiness assessments for inDrive's entry into new verticals or markets, including regulatory research, compliance-checklist completion, launch-scope product requirements, and launch readiness sign-off.

4. Platform rules. Draft and legally review inDrive's platform-level rules governing driver and user conduct and ban policies, in alignment with product, operations, including localisation per market.

5. Contract review for tech & product terms. Review and redline agreements with a tech or product dimension.

6. Cross-functional partnership. Respond to ad-hoc product and legal requests, consult product and business teams, and coordinate with the business model & monetization counterpart and other PC team members.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience in product compliance, commercial legal, IT platform legal work.
  • Experience advising on monetisation models, incentives, or transaction-related products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across legal compliance, and cross-functional product governance.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders on complex product or business-model issues.
  • Experience working in global or multi-jurisdictional environments.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, or advising on user-facing terms, disclosures, and operational product frameworks.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and translating between specialist domains (regulatory law, product, commercial strategy).
  • Willingness to be embedded in product and business design conversations rather than called in at the end.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with app-store and marketplace policy regimes (Apple, Google).
  • Exposure to new-market entry / market launch legal readiness.
  • Experience supporting platform or marketplace rules, trust & safety, or content/conduct policy.
