Job Description

Great procurement is about far more than managing suppliers, it's about building the partnerships, strategies and commercial foundations that enable a business to succeed.

At Aston Martin, every decision we make contributes to the creation of some of the world's most desirable luxury performance cars. Behind that success sits a Procurement team that plays a critical role in securing the right suppliers, delivering commercial value, managing risk and ensuring we remain competitive in an ever-evolving global marketplace.

We're looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team at Gaydon on a fixed term contract until November 2027 and help drive the next chapter of Aston Martin's success.

This is an opportunity to lead and develop a procurement team while influencing key business decisions across the organisation. You'll operate at the heart of our Procurement function, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop sourcing strategies, identify opportunities, manage supplier performance and ensure Aston Martin continues to achieve the highest standards of quality, value and service.

As a Purchasing Manager, you'll be responsible for navigating a fast-paced and dynamic environment where commercial awareness, market insight and strategic thinking are essential. You'll analyse market trends, supplier capabilities and industry developments to ensure Aston Martin remains ahead of the curve, while helping the business adapt to changing technologies, economic conditions and regulatory requirements.

You'll also play a key role in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, developing robust supplier strategies and fostering strong relationships that support both short-term objectives and long-term business success. Whether you're driving commercial negotiations, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders or championing process improvements, you'll be instrumental in helping the Procurement function deliver lasting value to the business.

We're looking for an experienced procurement professional who combines strong commercial judgement with excellent leadership skills. You'll have experience managing and developing teams, building effective stakeholder relationships and delivering results within a complex business environment. While automotive experience would be advantageous, we're equally interested in individuals who can demonstrate strong procurement expertise gained in other sectors.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and influencing decisions. You'll be comfortable working strategically while remaining hands-on when required, bringing energy, accountability and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.

What makes this opportunity particularly exciting is the breadth of impact you'll have across the organisation. This isn't simply about managing suppliers or negotiating contracts. It's an opportunity to shape procurement strategy, lead talented individuals, influence major business decisions and contribute directly to the commercial success of one of the world's most iconic luxury brands. You'll have the chance to build lasting partnerships, drive meaningful change and leave a visible mark on Aston Martin's future.

Based at our Gaydon headquarters, this role offers the opportunity to work within a passionate, ambitious and collaborative team while helping to deliver the next generation of Aston Martin products and experiences.

If you're an experienced procurement leader looking for a role where your commercial expertise, leadership skills and strategic thinking can make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
