Senior Process EngineerPlay an integral role in Worley’s Process Engineering team, helping deliver the critical infrastructure and processing facilities that support energy, chemicals, resources, and emerging energy markets throughout North America. As energy systems continue to evolve, you will contribute to projects that improve reliability, operational efficiency, process safety, emissions performance, and asset productivity across refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, midstream, carbon capture, and related energy infrastructure facilities.Based in Denver, you will join a multidisciplinary engineering team that supports some of North America’s most complex energy projects. Working alongside pipeline, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and project professionals, you will develop process solutions that enable customers to optimize operations, increase capacity, improve safety performance, and support the transition to a more sustainable energy future. Through technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration, you will help customers solve critical challenges across the energy value chain.Purpose of the roleAs a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide process engineering services to Worley and its customers while serving as a technical leader within the Process Engineering team. You will perform process engineering activities across refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, midstream, petrochemical, and related energy infrastructure projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting multidisciplinary project execution.You will develop, evaluate, and optimize process systems that support the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation, processing, storage, and handling of hydrocarbons and other energy products. Working closely with project teams and customers, you will translate operational objectives into practical engineering solutions that improve performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver long-term business value.In this role, you will work with experienced multidisciplinary engineers to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions for energy transportation, processing, and delivery projects.You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from early concept studies through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup, while supporting customers in both traditional and emerging energy sectors.Location:Denver, ColoradoThis position will be based in Denver and will support a hybrid work environment that combines office collaboration, customer engagement, and project support activities.The Denver office supports refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, carbon capture, and midstream infrastructure projects throughout North America and serves as a key engineering hub for customers seeking to modernize, optimize, and expand their energy infrastructure.You will be responsible forDelivering process engineering services that meet Worley, customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements while maintaining schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives.Leading and executing process engineering work for refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, midstream, petrochemical, and related energy infrastructure projects.Managing process engineering scope, technical quality, and project execution requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Developing, reviewing, and approving key process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balances (HMBs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process narratives, equipment datasheets, and technical reports.Building and maintaining process simulation models utilizing Aspen HYSYS, UniSim Design, and other industry-standard software.Performing line sizing, pressure drop calculations, hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and process optimization studies.Developing process designs and specifications for separation vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, control valves, pressure relief systems, and associated process equipment.Performing Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) sizing, overpressure evaluations, relief system analysis, and flare system studies.Supporting pipeline and midstream projects through hydraulic modeling, flow assurance evaluations, and operational performance assessments.Participating in HAZOPs, PHA reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and process safety studies.Providing technical input during procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational support activities.Identifying process improvements, debottlenecking opportunities, capacity enhancements, and operational efficiencies for customers.Collaborating with mechanical, pipeline, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and project teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.Supporting proposal development, engineering estimates, project planning, and business development activities.Helping resolve complex technical challenges while balancing customer objectives, project requirements, and operational constraints.Promoting Worley’s commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, quality, and operational excellence.
What you’ll bring to the roleBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.Minimum 10 years of process engineering experience supporting refining, oil and gas, pipeline, gas processing, terminals, petrochemicals, chemicals, or related energy industries.Demonstrated experience serving as a process engineering lead on multidisciplinary engineering projects.Strong understanding of refining processes, natural gas processing facilities, fractionation systems, pipeline-related facilities, terminals, and midstream operations.Experience developing and reviewing PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, process calculations, and engineering studies.Proficiency with process simulation and engineering software, including Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, Honeywell UniSim, ProMax, hydraulic modeling software, and related process engineering tools.Experience performing hydraulic modeling, flow assurance evaluations, process optimization studies, and operational troubleshooting.Knowledge of pressure relief systems, flare network design, process safety management, and overpressure protection methodologies.Strong understanding of applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams within an EPC environment.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage customers, operations teams, and engineering stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute to technical excellence within a process engineering organization.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining technical quality and delivery commitments.OGLA experience is preferred.Commitment to safety, quality, innovation, and continuous professional development.CompensationFor Colorado applicants:Salary Range is $129,993 - $181,166Benefits: Feel the energy at Worley with access to a range of benefits including: paid-time off, holiday pay (usually 8 per year in the US), and eligibility to participate in the medical, life, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as 401K plan.Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.Apply todayIf you are looking to apply your process engineering expertise on complex refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, and energy infrastructure projects, we want to hear from you.At Worley, you will work alongside industry-leading experts helping customers improve operational performance, enhance safety and reliability, expand infrastructure capacity, and support energy transition initiatives.
