The Opportunity

Ready to lead real change? As Senior Process Engineer, you'll drive water quality and process innovation across Ballarat's water and wastewater operations—serving over 160,000 people in one of Victoria's fastest growing regions.

You'll provide technical leadership on critical treatment operations, mentor junior engineers, and shape sustainable water management practices through a long term partnership with Central Highlands Water. This is meaningful work with genuine career progression and community impact.

What You’ll be Responsible for

• Lead process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives

• Provide technical expertise on water quality, wastewater treatment, and recycled water management

• Conduct process reviews and investigations to optimise plant performance

• Mentor operational and technical teams

• Drive Net Zero initiatives to reduce chemical and energy consumption

• Ensure treated water meets contractual standards and regulatory requirements

• Support business development and capital planning

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Tertiary qualifications in chemical engineering or equivalent

• Demonstrated experience in water or wastewater treatment operations

• Sound knowledge of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and relevant environmental legislation

• Excellent report writing and communication skills
