Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.Overall Responsibilities and Key AccountabilitiesLead the development, review, and implementation of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineering deliverables for customer projects and operating facilities.Prepare and maintain I&C engineering documentation including:Control Narratives.Functional Design Specifications (FDS).Cause-and-Effect Matrices.Instrument Indexes.I/O Lists.PLC and DCS Logic Diagrams.Loop Drawings.Alarm Philosophy and Rationalization Documentation.Test Procedures.Commissioning and Startup Packages.Support and maintain plant control systems, DCS platforms, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), HMI/SCADA applications, and associated industrial networks.Execute control strategy modifications, logic changes, graphics development, and system troubleshooting.Work directly with customer operations and engineering personnel to identify and resolve process control issues.Review and interpret existing control programs and documentation.Participate in control system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities.Provide technical support for reliability, safety, and production objectives.Support commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting activities.Collaborate with automation, instrumentation, operations, and maintenance teams to improve system and process performance.Interface with equipment vendors, system integrators, and customer stakeholders.Independently prioritize and execute assigned work with limited direction.Travel up to 25% as required to support customer projects, commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and business needs throughout North America.Travel as required for various field programs.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer, Process Control, or related Engineering discipline.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is preferred.Minimum 10+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.Demonstrated experience supporting industrial facilities and customer projects.Proven experience developing, reviewing, and executing Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineering deliverables is required.Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience producing control narratives, functional design specifications, cause-and-effect matrices, instrument indexes, I/O lists, logic diagrams, loop drawings, alarm management documentation, test procedures, and commissioning documentation.Strong understanding of process control principles, alarms, interlocks, regulatory control strategies, and safety systems.Experience working directly with operators, maintenance personnel, and engineering teams.Proven ability to work independently and quickly become productive in unfamiliar environments.Technical SkillsDistributed Control Systems (DCS)Emerson DeltaV.Honeywell Experion PKS.Honeywell TDC 3000 / HPM.Foxboro I/A Series.ABB 800xA.Yokogawa CENTUM.Safety SystemsTriconex Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).PLC PlatformsRockwell ControlLogix.Siemens PCS7 / S7.Schneider Electric.Desired ExperienceExperience supporting customers in industrial process, manufacturing, energy, mining, refining, petrochemical, pipeline, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.Experience with DCS migrations, upgrades, and modernization projects.Experience supporting both regulatory and advanced process control applications.Brownfield modifications and operational support.Functional safety and alarm management knowledge.Knowledge of integrated plant operations and production optimization.Experience supporting multi-discipline engineering projects through design, implementation, commissioning, and startup phases.Experience working within an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) environment is considered a strong asset.Key AttributesThe ideal candidate is:A "hit-the-ground-running" engineer.A strong communicator who can work effectively with customer personnel, operators, maintenance teams, and engineering stakeholders.Comfortable taking ownership of work with minimal onboarding.Results-oriented and proactive in identifying and solving problems.Able to function effectively in fast-paced operational environments.Adaptable and capable of supporting multiple customers, projects, and technologies.Demonstrates strong technical writing and documentation skills.Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time to support customer and project requirements throughout North America.Preferred Experience Profile10-20+ years of controls and automation engineering experience.Demonstrated success delivering both project and operational support assignments.Strong background in the development of I&C engineering deliverables and control system design.Experience supporting the full project lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, commissioning, startup, and ongoing customer support.Proven ability to independently lead controls engineering activities and provide technical guidance to customers and project teams.Additional information:Additional Technical SkillsHMI and SCADA systems.Industrial communications (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).Control system cybersecurity awareness.Control system lifecycle support and vendor coordination.Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) lifecycle support.Alarm management and control system optimization.System integration, testing, and commissioning.Moving forward togetherWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
