This role is for a designer who thinks beyond individual features or products and insteadthrives at the intersection of product vision, complex systems, and user-centered design.
As aprincipal-level designer,you will define and influence long-term product and experience direction, workingacross teams and functionsto deliver cohesiveandscalable user experiences.This is a high impactrole,you will act as a thought leader in experience design, elevating quality, consistency, and innovation across the organization.
You willpartner closely withProduct, Engineering, and Business leaders, andbe part of a close-knit design community of 20 designers who actively collaborate, share feedback, and support each other in raising the bar for design quality.
Required
10+ years of experience in UX,product design,or industrial designwithdemonstratedimpact leading complex, workflow-heavy product areas
You thrive in ambiguity and bring clarity through structured thinking. You can define a vision for the future of product creation,and then help make it real
You are a systems thinker and design leader who moves fluidly between concept and execution
Ability to work autonomously and drive alignment in fast-paced, collaborative environments
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, intuitive user experiences
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders
Experience working with or contributing to design systems
Preferred
AI fluency in your own work:you'veused AI to unlock capabilities youdidn'thave before and can show a clear before/after in how youoperateas a designer
Demonstratedstrong visual designskills
Interestor backgroundin AEC, construction technology, early-stage design workflows, or related domains

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
