Wood is currently recruiting for Senior Principal Engineer - Civil & Structural with 18+ years of experience in Offshore Piping Engineering Environment with lead role in project execution in oil and gas, petrochemical industry.
This role will be based out of our Chennai office.
The Role
The Senior Principal Engineer - Civil & Structural will apply extensive and comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization’s products and services.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who has previous experience within Onshore Civil & Structural Engineering and wants to be part of a dynamic project team working as part of an international service line.

The key objectives for this role are:
Must have exposure to
- Review of Soil investigation report and foundation design based on safe bearing capacity, groundwater table and seismic zone.
- Design of pile foundations/ open foundation and RCC & Steel structure.
- Static and dynamic stability including buckling, natural frequency and wind-induced vibrations.
- Must have sound working experience in using Indian, Euro and American standards for the works.
- Thorough experience in production of deliverables such as General arrangement drawings, Detail drawings & supporting Calculations.
- Should have experience on constructability review.
- Should have experience on Vendor drawing review and coordination with other disciplines.
- Exposure to American petroleum Industry & OISD requirement will be considered as added advantage.
- Review of Concrete & steel work drawings and documents produced by the contractor.
- Attending internal meeting & review with client as Subject Matter Expert.
- Monitoring the project schedules/Quantities/Changes through timely review and comments
- Ensuring all deliverables comply with quality as per Wood /Client/Project/Code specifications & standards.
- Review of vendor drawings/other discipline drawings for adequacy of Civil & Structural design input requirements.
- Provide inputs on permit, constructability and best engineering practice requirement.

Expected:
- Must have graduation in Civil Engineering.
- Must have ability to prepare/check calculations & checking of drawings for Civil & Structural design works including Hands on Experience on analysis & design software tool.
- Must have experience in leading large project with ability to prepare man hour estimate, deliverable list and schedule.
- Working experience with National (Indian) & International codes (Euro & American).
- Experience in the design of Concrete & steel works& concrete works on Oil & Gas projects handled.
- PMCExperience in review of EPC contractor documents for Concrete and steel related works.
