Base salary will be in the range $ 120,317- $134,892 + 17% super (HEW Level 8)
Based at our stunning St Lucia Campus
Join UQs Infrastructure and Sustainability team within Property and Facilities and bring your specialist engineering expertise to one of Queensland’s largest and most complex property portfolios. Reporting to the Senior Building Services Engineer, you will work across a broader unit of 30 subject matter expert engineers and consultants to help deliver quality, compliant, sustainable and maintainable outcomes across UQ’s capital project delivery program and operational assets. This is a purposeful, hands-on opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to see their ideas translated into immediate, practical impact across vibrant campuses and sites throughout Queensland.
Key responsibilities will include
Provide specialist engineering input and technical coordination across all stages of the project lifecycle, including business case development, feasibility, design, procurement, construction, delivery and operations.
Review project technical briefs, design and construction documentation, and operations and maintenance frameworks to support best-for-owner outcomes and smooth transition from delivery to operations.
Lead and support technical quality assurance activities, governance processes and site-based investigations to help ensure projects deliver compliant, safe and maintainable infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and stakeholders across Campus Planning, Development and Project Delivery, Campus Operations, Commercial Business and Information Technology Services to align project intent with operational requirements.
A Bachelor of Engineering degree (accredited under the Washington Accord), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in the Building Services sector.
Demonstrated experience in a building services engineering role, with the ability to apply technical expertise across design, construction, project delivery and/or operational environments.
Strong project management capability, including the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and contribute to projects that are delivered on time and within budget.
High-level interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across multidisciplinary teams and with stakeholders of differing technical capability.
Sound knowledge of building services principles, engineering standards and relevant legal and compliance obligations, with a strong focus on quality, safety and maintainability.
Excellent analytical, report writing and presentation skills, including experience using spreadsheets, databases and reporting systems to support evidence-based decision making.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a practical, inquisitive approach to problem-solving in complex built environment settings.
Professional membership and/or registration with an appropriate professional body or board, such as Engineers Australia or BPEQ, would be highly regarded.
