The Reinsurance Actuarial Pricing team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd., is looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary to join our Zurich office.
In this role you will perform pricing analysis for the broad spectrum of Property, Casualty & Specialty reinsurance, with a lead focus on Casualty lines. In addition, you are involved in the development and pricing of innovative risk transfer solutions together with clients and brokers. You will work with underwriters to analyse the profitability of our portfolio and to and provide ad-hoc reports and recommendations to underwriting management. You will work closely with the actuarial function in home office and the other branch offices on the development of pricing tools to enhance our pricing excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Price reinsurance treaties and liaise with underwriting in support of the European book of business, also provide additional pricing support to Global Pricing teams across all lines of business, e.g. Property, Casualty, Motor, Marine, Credit & Surety
Liaise with underwriting and management in support of our global book of business
Provide recommendations on changes to existing or new Specialty Casualty pricing models
Mentor, train and develop junior colleagues
Participate in client visits, broker meetings, and marketing events
Produce presentations and reports to meet management, board, and strategy reporting needs
Perform transactional actuarial pricing analyses, conducting lines of business studies, profitability reviews, portfolio management, and ad-hoc modeling work.
Ensure global views, consistency, and synergies through inter-office connectedness with actuaries across the group (Reserving, ERM, Capital Modeling, CAT Modeling, and Insurance Actuarial)
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Qualified/ Nearly-qualified Actuary in a globally recognized actuarial body
10+ years actuarial pricing experience with 3+ in reinsurance
Proven experience specifically in Casualty and Financial Lines actuarial pricing with a sound knowledge of other P&C lines
Exposure to reserving practices, CAT modelling, portfolio management, and finance/accounting
Knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II and capital management is an advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
The ideal candidate is team oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and excellent written and oral communications skills.
Able to work in dynamic and agile environment
Experience with Python, R, SQL, programming skills is a plus
Languages: proficient in English, another European language is an advantage
Keen to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, good team player
