Senior PR Executive | Earned Media & Brand Visibility

The Publicist / Earned Media – Senior Executive is responsible for executing and supporting earned media initiatives that enhance brand visibility and strengthen the organization’s reputation in the behavioral health and healthcare space.

This role focuses on proactive media pitching, content development, journalist engagement, and securing consistent press coverage. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with hands-on experience in public relations execution and media outreach.

Responsibilities:

Earned Media Outreach

• Identify and execute earned media opportunities for:
  • Service launches (e.g., TMS therapy, group therapy)
  • New clinic openings and expansions
  • Healthcare awareness campaigns and events
  • Industry trends and timely news opportunities
• Build and maintain updated media lists (local, regional, healthcare trade)
• Pitch stories via email, phone, and digital platforms
• Follow up consistently to secure media coverage

Content Development

• Draft press materials including:
  • Press releases
  • Media advisories
  • Pitch emails and story angles
• Support creation of press kits (fact sheets, leadership bios, images, and media assets)
• Coordinate with internal teams to:
  • Gather accurate information
  • Develop leadership quotes
  • Ensure brand messaging and compliance alignment

Media Relations Support

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and producers
• Support coordination of interviews and media requests
• Track media coverage and ensure accuracy of published content
• Maintain records of outreach activities and responses

Platform Execution

• Monitor and respond to media opportunities via platforms such as Qwoted and HARO
• Identify relevant journalist queries and submit timely responses
• Support ongoing media engagement efforts

Reporting & Tracking

• Track media coverage and outreach performance
• Assist in monitoring campaign effectiveness
• Provide updates on pitching activity and media wins

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications
• Strong writing and content development skills
• Experience in pitching and securing media coverage
• Familiarity with healthcare, lifestyle, or regulated industries preferred
• Experience with Qwoted and HARO platforms is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple pitches and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to healthcare or behavioral health communications
• Experience supporting multi-location or growing organizations
• Existing media network or journalist relationships (preferred)
