We are looking for: Senior Power Systems Software Engineer

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Develop, implement, and perform complex technical assignments related to Electricity Energy Markets and Grid Simulation (steady state and dynamics) software applications.
  • Analyze, design, program, troubleshoot, recommend solutions, perform enhancements, provide technical support, and implement modifications associated with the power system applications.
  • The position requires effective use and modification to the solution techniques in power system planning, operations and/or modeling and knowledge of power system algorithms and optimization techniques.
  • Perform problem resolution including performing root cause analysis and interacting with customers and application engineers.
  • Provide support and knowledge transfer to customer engineering staff to apply changes to the real time applications.

· Master’s degree, in Electrical Power Systems Engineering.

· 4 - 7 years of relevant experience in a similar position.

· The following experience is highly desirable

· Software application development experience in high level language preferably C/C++, SQL, PL/SQL, Perl and Python

· Knowledge of git and CI/CD is a plus

· Experience in working on Linux environments is a plus

· 2-4 years of Experience in either or a combination of the following functional areas:

· Experience in modeling and solving Energy Market Clearing Optimization Problems

· Experience in Transient Stability Analysis, Interconnection Project Studies

· Experience in Network Application such as Power Flow Analysis, Security Analysis, State Estimator

· Experience in modeling and solving Financial Transmission Rights (FTR), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) or bidding strategies

· Experience in doing market analysis and study using Monte Carlo Simulation and any other established simulation techniques

· Conceptualization ability
