Technical Consulting Manager II


Your role and responsibilities :

As a Senior Power System Engineer in our Global Power System Consulting team specializing in Power System Studies, you will be responsible for leading and performing power system analyses and studies to support the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems. You will use industry-standard software and tools to model and simulate power systems, analyze data, and recommend solutions to optimize system performance. You will work collaboratively within an international team of engineers, project managers, and clients globally to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.


The preferred location for this position is Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead and conduct power system studies to analyze system performance, identify issues, and recommend solutions.

  • Develop power system models using software such as ETAP, PowerFactory, and PSCAD.

  • Perform power system studies like load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash analyses for large and complex systems.

  • Develop protection and coordination schemes for electrical equipment in high-, medium and low voltage networks.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers to empower them to perform power system studies independently.

  • Prepare accurate, well-organized technical reports and presentations summarizing study findings and recommendations.

  • Take ownership of deliverables to meet client expectations as per the agreed project schedule.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power engineering. A Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power systems is preferrable with minimum of 5 years of experience in power system analysis and studies.

  • Proficient in simulation and modeling software such as ETAP, Power Factory, or PSCAD with detailed knowledge of protection and coordination schemes for electrical equipment.

  • Excellent knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to power systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented and customer focused mindset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and interact with clients internationally.

  • Affinity towards programming (Excel VBA, SQL, Python, DigSILENT Programming Language, Power BI) and automating the daily work routines

  • High self-motivation and project management abilities to organize, schedule, prioritize multiple clients or projects in a dynamic environment
