The Senior Power Electronics Engineering Manager leads the Power Electronics engineering function supporting industrial projects across the LATAM region. This role combines technical leadership with direct people leadership, ensuring effective project execution, strong team capability, and disciplined engineering practices aligned with business needs.
The role is focused on project delivery, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration, while contributing to the continued development of the organization. In addition to regional responsibilities, the role will lead engineering resources contributing to projects for other GE Vernova units, requiring strong coordination, organizational effectiveness, and collaborative engagement across teams and regions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the Power Electronics engineering team supporting industrial project execution across the LATAM region.
  • Deliver power electronics solutions for industrial projects involving medium-voltage and low-voltage applications.
  • Drive high-quality, cost-effective, and on-time engineering execution across the full project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with global GE Vernova engineering teams to share best practices, leverage technical expertise, and maintain alignment with ongoing developments.
  • Strengthen the organization’s engineering capability to support both regional execution and broader global collaboration.
  • Establish effective processes, priorities, and engineering practices to support evolving business needs and organizational growth.
  • Guide engineers in technical decision-making across multiple projects and disciplines.
  • Partner with commercial and application engineering teams to define optimized technical solutions for customer applications.
  • Ensure timely delivery of detailed engineering documentation and technical support for manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Provide local technical support for installation and commissioning activities, as required.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues related to projects, equipment under test, and systems in operation.
  • Lead and contribute to technical reviews, root cause analysis, and design FMEA activities.
  • Contribute to product improvement, range extension, and competitiveness initiatives within the power electronics portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience in system integration for industrial projects, with a strong technical focus on Power Electronics and drive applications.
  • Proven experience in project engineering or system integration environments, with involvement across the project lifecycle from solution definition and design through testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Strong experience with medium-voltage and/or low-voltage drive systems applied to industrial projects.
  • Proven experience leading engineers in a technical environment, including coaching, people development, and performance management.
  • Experience in industrial sectors such as mining, metals, energy, or other heavy industries
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to operate effectively in an international engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working across global, multi-site engineering organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical drive systems and control of electrical machines ( AC, synchronous, and DC).
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and engineering validation methods.
  • Experience with structured technical problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and FMEA

  • Knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage drive applications.
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or other advanced validation methods.
  • Experience supporting product evolution, technology development, or portfolio expansion initiatives.
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Experience supporting on-site commissioning or field activities for industrial systems.
  • Ability to bring structure, clarity, and discipline to evolving organizations and processes.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix environment with regional and global interfaces.
