Focused on creating the next generation of supply chain capability, the program is delivering new platforms, processes, and technologies that will support how products move through our network for years to come.

We’re looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract and help turn complex operational and project data into meaningful insights. Working closely with Supply Chain, Technology, Data, and Program stakeholders, you’ll design and deliver reporting solutions that support both day-to-day decision making and major transformation outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong data and technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and problem solving. While the position sits within Technology, you’ll work closely with business stakeholders and help bridge the gap between data, reporting, and operational outcomes across the NextGen program.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and delivering Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics solutions that support the NextGen Supply Chain program.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Developing and optimising SQL queries, data models, and reporting logic across enterprise data platforms.
  • Building and maintaining Power BI datasets, dataflows, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and reporting assets.
  • Supporting data integration activities and partnering with Data Engineering, Application, and Technology teams to ensure reliable reporting outcomes.
  • Improving reporting performance, governance, security, and usability across Power BI solutions.
  • Troubleshooting complex reporting, refresh, connectivity, and data quality issues.
  • Helping establish consistent reporting standards, documentation, and development practices across the program.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise Power BI reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including query development, optimisation, and working with large datasets.
  • Experience developing semantic models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, dataflows, and Power BI Service solutions.
  • A strong understanding of data modelling, reporting governance, security, and enterprise BI practices.
  • The ability to work directly with stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate business questions into meaningful reporting outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS, cloud data platforms, or large-scale operational reporting environments is highly regarded.
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.

Perks and benefits we’ll offer you:

  • Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy, spending 60% of your week in our National Office
  • We’ll provide multiple ways for you to learn from online micro-credentialing in Udemy, support to gain certifications to tech community events and more.
  • Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group.
  • We offer inclusive leave and ongoing support for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances.
  • Free onsite parking when you’re required to come into the office.
  • We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work that's why everyone gets the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.
  • A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Bunnings, and Officeworks.
  • A free OnePass membership offering free delivery across Kmart & Target on eligible products.
  • Access to the Brighter Benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health – with over 60 suppliers!
  • Reflection room, space for prayer, meditation, or time for yourself.
  • Wesfarmers is Kmart’s parent company and each year eligible employees can elect to purchase shares through a salary sacrifice arrangement.
