But there is more work to be done and that is why we need you to help us.

The Markets Business Area is at the heart of Statkraft’s value creation. As energy systems evolve, markets are becoming more interconnected, volatile and data-driven. Navigating this complexity requires deep market understanding, disciplined risk management and the ability to translate insights into effective decisions. By combining a strong renewable asset base with active market participation and advanced analytics, we optimize the asset portfolio value across European energy markets.

You will join the Asset Portfolio Management Europe team, responsible for managing the market exposure and risks of Statkraft’s asset portfolio across various European markets (excluding Nordics). The asset portfolio currently consists of ~ 5 GW of installed capacity, majorly within Germany, Spain, the UK, Ireland and Albania and is expected the be generating ~ 8 TWh per annum – while growing as we speak.

The team ensures long-term value creation through active hedging and portfolio optimization, balancing risk and return across a growing portfolio of wind, solar and flexible assets. Operating at the intersection of markets, assets and analytics, the team combines market interaction, portfolio management and analytical work to manage exposure and support decision-making.

As a Portfolio Manager / Senior Portfolio Manager within the Asset Portfolio Management Europe team you will:

  • Create measurable PnL and impact on portfolio performance
  • Manage a various set of risk management portfolios
  • Analyze positions and execute trades within defined mandates
  • Take or contribute to broader commercial decisions, balancing risk and return
  • Monitor and interpret market developments, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Develop and apply analytical models and tools to support portfolio decisions
  • Contribute to the further development of hedging strategies, risk frameworks and portfolio setups

For more experienced candidates, the role also includes:

  • Leading complex portfolio decisions and strategic positioning across major European markets
  • Acting as a key sparring partner for stakeholders across Business Area Markets and Europe
  • Contributing to the development of team frameworks, processes and capabilities

Qualifications

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager / Senior Portfolio Manager with the right mindset and skills to help our team. That includes knowledge in:

  • Strong experience in electricity markets, trading and asset exposure management, ideally in portfolio decision-making roles
  • Hands-on experience with market positions, trading environments and execution processes
  • Strong understanding of European power markets, products and price drivers across the forward curve
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with data analysis and modelling tools (e.g. Python)
  • Ability to translate market insights into structured, commercially relevant decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in cross-functional, commercial environments

Additional Information

At Statkraft, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match. This includes (non-exclusive):

  • Strong professional development opportunities within a leading European energy market organization
  • A collaborative, international and high-performing environment
  • Competitive compensation and benefit schemes
  • Flexible working environment and work-life balance principles

We therefore work actively to be a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome all applicants regardless of background, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality or disability.

Statkraft offers competitive terms of employment and benefits schemes, and we’re a trusted employer that puts the safety of our people first. We believe that a safe and healthy working environment is a matter of choice, not chance.
