Leads the planning, oversight, and coordination of all portfolios within a domain

area and facilitates cross domain alignment and coordination as needed.

Partners with product managers and others on intake and demand planning.

Engages all disciplines across the technology team to facilitate capacity planning

and alignment of capacity to demand through planning, prioritization, sequencing

of work, and dependency mapping. Utilizes defined practices, tools, and

deliverables to track and report on the overall health and progress of delivery

against portfolio plans and goals. Ownership for maturing multiple practices,

deliverables and/or tools within the portfolio practice. Acts as a mentor and

coach to portfolio managers.

  • Portfolio Management: Initiate and lead the governance and delivery of portfolio outcomeswithin a broad area of responsibility,using appropriate portfolio management methodologies to give assurance that intended outcomes are identified and achieved

  • Leadership and Direction Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization'smission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these andto doing extraordinary things toachieve local business goals.

  • Stakeholder Management Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans across multiple portfolios and domains toidentify relevant stakeholders, tocreate mutually supportive working relationships,and to ensure that each stakeholder has an appropriate share of voice acrossassigned portfolio(s).

  • Enterprise Business Analysis Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations tobusiness problems at a business unit level.Lead the improvement efforts that are within span of control at this level.

  • Culture of Innovation Define the execution plan to disseminate innovative capabilities across the businesses, helping people develop these competencies and enabling them to innovate through solutions such as ideageneration platforms, jam sessions,and hackathons

  • Transformational Change Management Manage substantial workstreams within a transformational change program, ensuring integration with relatedprojects; use structured change management methodologies to build acceptance ofchange and to embed desired cultureand behaviors.

  • Portfolio Risk and Issue Management Ensure that risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints are managed appropriately at portfolio and domain levels. Where risks or issues threatendelivery of the portfolio, develop and agree recovery plans.

  • Ongoing Learning and Development Develop own and more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informaltraining and coaching; gain or maintainexternal professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfillpersonal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology,external regulation, and industrybest practices through ongoing education,attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

  • Program/Portfolio Planning Lead the production and approval and management of program and/or portfolio plans to ensure integration of activities across portfolios and domains, appropriately organized to deliver on defined objectives, comply with the organization's approved methodologies, frameworks, and standards and compliance with the organization's wider governance structure and processes.

  • Reporting and Review Specify and lead the delivery of the portfolio review processes toensure that stakeholders are able to evaluate progressand agree on change at appropriate points.

  • Continuous Improvement Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. Mentors junior team members.

  • Program Assurance Lead the design and delivery of portfolio level assurance reviews, enable the delivery of assurance reviews by independentthird parties, and ensure that appropriate actions are taken toresolve any issues identified to givesenior stakeholders confidence that theprogram can deliver to time, budget,and quality

  • Resource Management Negotiate and manage deployment of program/portfolio resources and budgets, providing forecasts and presenting varianceswith narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization across multipleportfolios and/or domains.

  • Benefit Realization Lead the development and implementation of a long-term strategy toensure that intended business benefits are realizedand tracked across multiple portfolios and domains.

  • Program Governance Ensure consistency in governance practices across portfolios and domains, and compliance with the organization'swider program and/or portfolio management decision-making structures and processes

  • Policy Development & Implementation Guide the implementation of policy and the design and implementationof portfolio, program and change initiatives.

  • Budgeting Plan and manage budget for assigned activities within work area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent level preferred

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in field overall

  • 7+ years’ experience managing one or more large complex technology portfolios.

  • 6+ years of experience planning 3 or more functional and/or technical portfolios within an enterprise with a combined investment of $20M+

  • 5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies, including the use of backlogs to build capacity models.

  • 5+ years of designing and implementing best practices in portfolio management including Intake management, demand planning, annual planning, quarterly planning, and continuous planning.

  • 3+ years of technical program management experience

  • 3+ years’ experience working within a product driven organization and structure.

  • Leader in portfolio governance, performance management, communication management and risk management

  • Defines and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the business unit level within the enterprise.

  • Provides updates and interacts with executives at all levels of the organization.

  • PfMP, PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification

  • Experience and certification in SaFE methodology

  • Managerial Experience Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames (Over 10 years to 15 years)

Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
