The role

Crown Lands is seeking a strategic, collaborative and forward‑thinking Senior Policy and Project Officer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working across diverse teams, and is motivated by shaping policy and reform that delivers real impact for the management of land and natural resources.

As a Senior Policy and Project Officer, you will play a central role in leading complex projects and policy initiatives that support the Division’s strategic and legislative reform agenda. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Department, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to drive high‑quality policy outcomes in an environment where interests may differ and priorities can shift.

Your ability to think strategically, analyse complex problems, and develop pragmatic, evidence‑based solutions will be key to your success. You’ll also be a trusted advisor, preparing high‑quality briefings and advice for the Minister, Executive, and senior leaders.

About You

  • Detailed knowledge and expertise in policy development, implementation and review and ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of legislation and legislative and policy processes.
  • Experience leading projects and delivering against milestones.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to develop practical options and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building relationships and navigating differing viewpoints.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to supporting team success.
