Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.
Our software engineers tackle some of the most challenging problems in finance. We design the core platforms and infrastructure, build sophisticated risk management tools, and scale distributed systems that analyze exceptional volumes of data in real time. Everything we build is in service of sharpening the firm's trading edge. We focus on high-impact problems aligned to commercial goals, so the work is both technically engaging and personally rewarding. Our engineers are versatile, lead from where they sit, and take on new problems across the stack as we push to be the very best at what we do.
The Platform and Infrastructure group engineers and operates the foundational systems that power every application and business at Verition. Our disciplines span datacenter infrastructure to large-scale cloud services, with a shared goal: providing the most reliable, performant, and modern technology stack possible to accelerate time-to-market for the businesses we support. We work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where challenging the status quo of our infrastructure is the expectation, not the exception.
Linux Engineering owns the platform that most of Verition's compute runs on. This is deep, hands-on infrastructure work: the Linux fleet across our private data centers and cloud regions, tuned for the performance and latency demands of a quantitative trading firm, and automated so that thousands of machines behave as one coherent, code-defined platform. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll own significant pieces of that surface directly — from kernel-level tuning on our most latency-sensitive systems to the automation that provisions and maintains the fleet — working closely with the Tech Lead for Linux Platform Engineering to execute one coherent OS-platform strategy, alongside the Windows Engineering team that owns its counterpart.
