We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Runtime team. In this role, you will be a key architect and operator of the foundational infrastructure that powers our global microservices ecosystem. You are not a service desk; you are a product engineer whose "product" is a resilient, scalable, and secure internal developer platform. The ideal candidate treats infrastructure as software, possesses a "full ownership" mindset, and is passionate about enabling application teams to deploy and operate their services with zero-touch from the platform team.
Core Responsibilities
Infrastructure Evolution: Design, build, and maintain the core Kubernetes-based runtime environment and the surrounding cloud-native ecosystem.
Developer Enablement: Build abstractions and automated "Golden Paths" that allow product teams to be fully self-sufficient from ideation to production.
System Ownership: Take end-to-end accountability for the health, security, and cost-efficiency of the cloud platform.
Engineering Partnership: Act as a technical consultant to application squads, ensuring their services are architected for high availability and performance.
Reliability & Observability: Implement sophisticated monitoring, logging, and tracing (OpenTelemetry) to ensure rapid incident response and proactive system tuning.
Automation First: Replace manual toil with robust code (Golang/Python) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi).
Required Technical Profile:
Senior Expertise: 7+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps at scale.
Orchestration: Deep, production-level experience with Kubernetes (internals, networking, and security).
Cloud Native: Mastery of at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Automation: Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and scripting (Python, Bash, or Golang).
Delivery: Proven track record of building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for high-frequency deployment environments.
Observability: Experience with modern monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana) and a strong understanding of SLIs/SLOs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Language: Proficiency in Golang for building custom operators or platform tooling.
Telemetry: Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
Incident Management: Experience leading incident response rotations and conducting blameless post-mortems.
Security: Solid understanding of DevSecOps, including container scanning, IAM, and network policies.
Advanced Kubernetes Internals: Experience extending Kubernetes, building Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), or using the Operator SDK / Controller-runtime. (Not just deploying applications to K8s).
Software Engineering Mindset (Golang): Ability to write clean, modular code in Go to build developer tooling, not just writing glue scripts.
Production Observability Architecture: Practical experience implementing SLIs/SLOs, Error Budgets, and open-source tracing telemetry (OpenTelemetry) rather than just spinning up generic Grafana dashboards.
AWS Cloud-Native Security: Deep knowledge of IRSA (IAM Roles for Service Accounts) and Kubernetes network security policies.
Platform-as-a-Product Mindset: Views internal application developers as "customers." Passionate about reducing developer friction and improving Developer Experience (DevEx).
Self-Service Champion: An absolute intolerance for manual work and ticket-driven architectures. Relentlessly automates away "toil."
Systemic Ownership & Longevity: A track record of staying long enough to own, maintain, and iterate on systems they designed (avoiding job-hoppers).
Success Profile:
You are a Self-Starter. You don't wait for a ticket to fix a systemic bottleneck. You understand the trade-offs between "bleeding edge" and "boring technology," and you advocate for solutions that balance innovation with long-term maintainability.
