Job Description

Imagine a future where your software engineering and cloud administration skills are the key to driving the digital transformation of green energy production.

Join us in this role where you’ll contribute to the many phases of software development. We’re working in an international agile setup, building strong solutions, supporting engineers in the digital transformation. You will build a deep, expert-level understanding of our systems by being immediately immersed in meaningful, hands-on projects.

Welcome to the Engineering & Construction Solutions (Business Platform)
You’ll be part of the Platform team where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for enabling digital services with diverse and dedicated colleagues. These services play a critical role in optimizing data transformation, automation, and infrastructure management across engineering teams. Operating in a global Agile organization, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, developers, architects, and integration teams to enhance cloud-native adoption and improve operational excellence across teams. While we offer flexibility, we value on-site collaboration to foster strong teamwork and alignment across engineering and IT stakeholders.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • working closely with the cloud platform team to ensure the cloud infrastructure setup follows Ørsted best practices, security compliance, and governance guidelines
  • building, operating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure in Azure and AWS
  • managing and optimizing a secure, scalable cloud data ecosystem by developing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, operating multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to support DevSecOps adoption and operational excellence
  • driving performance, deployment, and cost optimization architectural best practices with infrastructure architects
  • defining and building out robust cloud observability and automation

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
  • have extensive experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), and Helm, complemented by a strong background in DevOps practices including CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code via Terraform, and automation using Argo Workflows.
  • have an excellent understanding of foundational Azure/AWS cloud services such as secret management, identity and access management (AD), networking, and observability (logging and monitoring)
  • solid understanding of the fundamentals of cloud networking, identity, and security
  • communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • are proactive, collaborative mindset and passion for continuous improvement.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.

As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
