Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer in Canada.
In this role, you will help shape and evolve a modern internal developer platform that enables engineering and ML teams to build, deploy, and operate services at scale with speed and reliability. You will work in a highly technical, product-minded environment where developer experience, automation, and operational excellence are treated as core engineering outcomes. The position focuses on building “paved roads” such as golden paths, CI/CD workflows, and GitOps-driven delivery systems that simplify complex infrastructure challenges. You will collaborate closely with SRE, security, and product engineering teams in a fully remote, global organization. The work is deeply hands-on and highly impactful, influencing how services are delivered across cloud-native systems. This is an opportunity to drive platform maturity in an environment that values ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities
- Own and deliver core internal developer platform capabilities end-to-end, from design and implementation to rollout and iteration across engineering teams.
- Build and maintain scalable “golden paths,” service templates, and self-service tooling that improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer experience.
- Enhance GitOps workflows using tools such as ArgoCD and Terraform automation, ensuring safe, consistent, and efficient delivery practices.
- Improve CI/CD systems (GitLab CI), focusing on performance, pipeline reliability, developer ergonomics, and scalable deployment patterns.
- Develop and refine observability and reliability frameworks, including SLOs, monitoring, and distributed tracing systems.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to embed secure-by-default patterns into platform design and operations.
- Reduce operational toil through automation, improve incident response processes, and contribute to on-call support for platform services.
- Support cloud and Kubernetes foundations while evolving platform abstractions to ensure scalability and portability across environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering roles.
- Strong production experience with at least one major cloud provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Hands-on expertise with GitOps workflows and tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, or equivalent.
- Solid experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and configuration systems such as Helm, Kustomize, or similar.
- Proven ability to build or operate internal developer platforms, including deployment pipelines, service templates, or developer tooling.
- Strong software engineering skills in a high-level language such as Go or Python, with ability to build APIs, CLIs, or internal tools.
- Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams in complex, distributed environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation with equity participation
- Fully remote, globally distributed work environment
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (varies by region)
- Unlimited PTO with minimum time-off expectations
- Paid parental leave (region-dependent)
- Home office, wellness, and professional development stipends
- Company-provided equipment (e.g., MacBook)
- High-impact engineering environment with strong ownership culture
- Continuous learning and training opportunities
