Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with experience in infrastructure automation, network security, solid CI/CD practices, and enabling self‑service platforms for engineering teams.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and automate runtime infrastructure (networks, databases, proxies, and firewalls) as code, both cloud and on-premises.
  • Ensure secure and reliable systems by applying network and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Design, implement, and operate robust monitoring, logging, and alerting tools so engineers can confidently own their apps.
  • Champion CI/CD for development teams—support them in building, securing, QA pipelining, packaging, and releasing applications.
  • Apply automation everywhere possible, empower teams with self-service, and drive company-wide innovation.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on expertise with major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc).
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (especially Terraform).
  • Extensive practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable in Linux/Unix, with a good grasp of system internals.
  • Skilled at scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, HA concepts).
  • Experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD is a plus).
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Security-by-design thinker; knowledge of infrastructure and app security best practices, cloud vulnerabilities, compliance, and incident response.
  • Excellent problem-solving and reasoning skills.

Soft Skills

  • Proven team player: collaborative, supportive, and able to thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communicator, fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

Onboarding Plan

  • Dive into company infrastructure—review architecture diagrams, environment setup guides, cloud policies, and CI/CD systems.
  • Connect with team leads; shadow colleagues on daily ops and support routines.

Weeks 3–4: Hands-On Exploration

  • Participate in deploying key infrastructure components (using Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Set up and customize monitoring/logging for a test environment.
  • Assist in refining CI/CD pipelines and participate in at least one release process.
  • Work with security team—review configurations, learn compliance and incident response flows.

Weeks 5–8: Ownership and Contribution

  • Take responsibility for one infrastructure module (cloud network, monitoring, or CI/CD workflow).
  • Introduce a small automation improvement (new script or tool).
  • Mentor junior engineers by walking through platform ops tasks.
  • Present a review of security practices implemented and suggest an improvement.
  • Join cross-functional meetings to inform and refine dev/ops collaboration.

Continuous Learning:

  • Regular catch-ups with peers.
  • Scheduled follow-ups with manager to review progress and set development goals.
  • Keep a log of questions, blockers, and suggestions for process improvement.
