Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open cut coal mining operation located in the western coalfields of New South Wales, approximately 40–50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, near the village of Wollar. Wilpinjong produces high quality thermal coal for both domestic and export energy markets, and is one of Peabody’s most productive and lowest cost operations.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning and Logistics Engineer to lead a small team delivering coal quality and logistics optimisation through effective quality control and accurate blending forecasts to meet customer demand.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead coal quality management to ensure compliance with domestic and export specifications
  • Develop and maintain coal blending forecasts to optimise product delivery
  • Coordinate logistics to support reliable and timely coal supply
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures across mining and processing stages
  • Collaborate with Technical Services and Production to improve quality, throughput and supply chain efficiency
  • Conduct audits and performance assessments of coal quality and logistics systems
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to coal quality engineers

About you:

  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Processing, or Geology
  • Experience in coal logistics, supply chain coordination and coal blending optimisation
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
  • Proficient in MS Office, with experience using data analytics or logistics software
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and develop others
  • Strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
