DHL Express is looking for a Senior Planner (Weekend) in Diegem. This role is responsible the execution of plans and processes link to the capacity management strategy by optimizing the use of available cargo space across flights, balancing supply with demand to maximize revenue and operational efficiency, whilst ensure we meet our service commitments to customers. Being the most experienced (+4 years) the Senior Planner is required to work independently relying on work experience to make network capacity decisions and set priorities. This also includes allocating space efficiently and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

• Be the central point for day-to-day capacity management related issues
• Understands the customer needs and ensures execution of the contractual agreements with customers with regard to capacity access and drives prioritization of the products on the network
• Responsible for optimization of flight load planning to drive efficiency and revenue. Implementing solutions to enhance processes and optimization.
• Work closely with colleagues across the globe to ensure optimum utilization of multi-leg movements.
• Ensure optimum utilization of the available ACS capacity on the DHL flown and trucking network
• Use load optimization software, such as iCargo & CAT, to balance cargo weight and volume effectively, preventing overloading or unused space.
• Collaborate with revenue management teams to adjust planning priorities, particularly in times of network disruption.
• Communicate with sales teams to provide visibility into available cargo space and discuss potential overbookings.
• Track daily flight capacity and cargo load factors to make adjustments in real-time as needed.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance capacity optimization
• Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting cargo operations, ensuring adherence to industry and other relevant standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in capacity management.
• Motivated team player who shares best practices and supports other team members to achieve ACS goals and objectives.
• Provide functional guidance / advice or training to less experienced positions

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
• +4 years years experience as a Capacity Planner at DHL
• Extensive knowledge of the DHL products and processes including aircraft and truck specifications
• High skill level in load planning and space optimization to ensure maximum utilization of available cargo space.
• Strong decision-making abilities, especially under time-sensitive conditions where planning adjustments need to be implemented quickly
• Flexibility to adjust plans quickly in response to changing demand or unexpected disruptions.
• High level of precision to manage weight limits, space constraints, and ensure data accuracy in planning systems.
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis tools for forecasting and optimization.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including sales teams, operations, and customers.
• Evident team player with a willingness to lead and develop co-workers
• Experience in the cargo aircraft industry and knowledge of aircraft configurations and equipment/contours is a benefit
• Proficiency with all key PC applications.
• Fluent in English, written & spoken. (Other languages a benefit)

Working Schedule

This full-time position. Employees work on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with the rest of the week off.
