Job Description

  • Rotating Roster 4/3 on site, 4/3 Perth Office
  • Senior role across both mobile and fixed plant
  • Extensive SAP knowledge required with significant experience in mining/resources sector

The Opportunity:

This is a senior role that shapes how maintenance is planned, optimised and executed across Gold Fields’ Mobile & Fixed Assets. As the Planner & Scheduler – Senior, you will drive advanced planning, optimisation and continuous improvement through disciplined application of the Work Management Process — the framework that underpins safe, reliable and efficient maintenance across our operations.

In this influential position, you’ll act as a subject matter expert in planning and scheduling, leading improvements that lift productivity, reliability and cost performance. You’ll refine task content, materials strategies and planning practices, and guide how maintenance is executed across site teams.

This role goes beyond building effective plans and schedules — it focuses on enhancing the planning system itself.

You’ll lead optimisation of task lists, Bills of Materials, planning routines and vendor engagement, ensuring maintenance execution evolves in line with asset strategies, operational priorities and business performance expectations.

Why You’ll Love Working for Us

  • Permanent role with a leading gold producer
  • Rotating Roster 4/3 on site (all assets), 4/3 Perth Office
  • 3% site allowance
  • Quarterly bonus up to 10% per annum, monthly private health insurance allowance
  • 5 weeks annual leave, long service leave after 5 years, paid parental leave
  • $10K employee referral bonus

What You’ll Do

  • Develop review and challenge complex job plans, govern weekly schedules, lead planning discussions and coordinate cross‑discipline resources.
  • Optimise task lists and Bills of Materials, resolve planning inefficiencies, drive corrective actions and influence teams to lift Work Management KPI performance.
  • Maintain accurate SAP master data, lead complex updates informed by strategy and reliability insights, and ensure alignment with GFA planning standards.
  • Challenge vendor scopes and costs, improve utilisation of external service providers and provide performance feedback to support commercial decisions.
  • Lead planning input into failure analysis, use data and KPIs to improve planning effectiveness, support budgeting and forecasting, and champion safe, disciplined planning practices.

What You’ll Bring

  • Recognised trade or technical/tertiary qualification, with extensive mining/resources experience including time in planning and scheduling roles.
  • Proven ability to improve planning systems, task quality and execution efficiency, supported by strong knowledge of Fixed Plant and/or Mobile Asset maintenance.
  • Advanced SAP skills across planning, scheduling and master data, with strong analytical capability to interpret maintenance data, KPIs and execution feedback.
  • Deep understanding of safety systems and demonstrated commitment to risk‑aware, disciplined planning that supports effective hazard control.
