A Day in the Life:

The Planning role at Tory Burch is responsible for driving topline sales and gross margin by optimizing product opportunities in China online market and manage online inventory to optimal levels. This person needs to work with Merchandising, ECOM and all related teams to develop and execute brand relevant strategies to deliver financial target. To excel in the position, this person must have excellent ECOM knowledge and analytical skills, established planning experience, have creative problem-solving skills, and enjoy working in a fast paced highly collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecasting and Analysis

  • Develop annual sales, gross margin, receipt and inventory plans to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities.
  • Weekly tracking sales and align monthly landing sales forecast with EC team.
  • Utilize historical data and current trends to capitalize on new opportunities and identify risks.
  • Develop supporting strategic business plans.
  • Partner with Buying to maintain a promotional calendar providing guidance on key/peak weeks.
  • Partner with Buying on assortment strategies based on hindsight analysis for Key campaigns

Business and Mech Plan

  • Monthly MFR process to submit forward looking sales/margin/buy/inventory plan in planning system
  • Develop China ECOM Open to Buy (OTB) on market calendar in partnership with Buying team and ECOM team
  • Be part of investment review process, provide support to Merch team on sales/buy/inventory/sku plan & historical data
  • Develop sales long range plan (5 years)
  • Premium analysis to control margin

Inventory Management

  • Monthly inventory rolling forecast and present “action points” for the management of inventory and receipts.
  • Work with cross functional team to manage inventory transfers to support sales and control inventory KPI at heath level
  • Inventory preparation for Key campaigns

In-Season Business Management

  • Communicate state of the business to cross-functional and corporate teams with in-season action plans to drive sales.
  • Lead and participate in weekly/monthly business and planning related meetings.
  • Develop and maintain reports for business needs.

EDUCATION AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong Analytical and Business Acumen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experienced with Planning and Merchandising applications
  • Collaborative ability to lead and motivate team
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Approx. 5 years’ experience working in a planning, buying or merchandising function
