Job Description

Connect every phase. Anticipate what’s next. Keep delivery on track.

At Sedgman, we deliver some of the world’s most complex mineral processing projects, supporting clients across the global resources and critical minerals sectors.

As Senior Planner, you will play a central role in integrating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning into a clear, achievable and performance-driven project schedule.

This is a site-based role in Brazil, providing direct visibility of project progress, interfaces and emerging schedule risks. You will work closely with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, the client and delivery partners to maintain a robust integrated project programme and enable timely, informed decisions.

Your expertise will help the project team see what is coming, understand what is changing and take action before issues affect critical milestones.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, maintain and control the integrated master EPCM programme using Primavera P6. (Including loading the program with resources)
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities into the overall project schedule.
  • Define and monitor critical path activities, key interfaces, milestones and schedule dependencies.
  • Lead collaborative planning sessions and regular schedule progress updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate subcontractor, supplier, fabricator and service-provider schedules into the master programme. (Including interphases)
  • Monitor progress against the approved baseline and recommend recovery or mitigation actions where required.
  • Track engineering deliverables and procurement activities to ensure alignment with construction priorities.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis to test milestone achievability and identify potential delays.
  • Produce accurate status updates, look-ahead schedules, earned value reporting, S-curves and schedule forecasts.
  • Support the use of 4D planning, visual reporting and Power BI dashboards where appropriate.
  • Assess schedule impacts arising from scope changes, emerging risks and project decisions.
  • Provide clear schedule insight to project leadership, the client and delivery teams.

What we’re looking for

You’re an accomplished planner who understands how the different elements of a major EPCM project connect. You combine deep scheduling expertise with practical construction knowledge, strong stakeholder engagement and the confidence to challenge assumptions when delivery is at risk.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or a related discipline.
  • Extensive planning and project controls experience, including experience supporting full-cycle EPCM delivery.
  • Demonstrated site-based planning experience within mineral processing, mining, construction, oil and gas or heavy industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Strong capability in critical path analysis, earned value reporting and schedule forecasting.
  • Experience conducting schedule risk analysis and developing mitigation or recovery plans.
  • Exposure to 4D planning and Power BI reporting is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional fluency in Portuguese and English is strongly preferred for this Brazil-based project.
  • Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and continuous improvement seeking

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to become the Senior Planner behind a major mineral processing project, connecting each phase of delivery and helping the project team turn strategy into coordinated action.

If you’re looking for more in your next move, you’ll find it here: more opportunity to influence project execution, more impact through integrated planning, more perspective through multidisciplinary collaboration, and more purpose supporting the resources and critical minerals projects helping shape the future.
