Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planner to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 / Level 4 project schedules in accordance with project requirements.

  • Establish the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity coding structures, calendars, logic, and scheduling methodology.

  • Develop baseline schedules and ensure they are properly aligned with approved project scope and execution strategies.

  • Integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover activities into the overall project schedule.

  • Develop detailed construction schedules covering civil, structural, MEP, utilities, infrastructure, airfield, and specialist works.

  • Review contractor and subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the approved master schedule.

  • Analyze schedule logic, sequencing, constraints, interfaces, and critical path activities.

  • Identify and monitor critical path and near-critical path activities.

  • Update project schedules based on actual progress, approved changes, and forecast activities.

  • Collect progress information from Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and other project teams.

  • Verify reported progress against physical site progress and supporting documentation.

  • Analyze schedule performance and identify deviations from baseline.

  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans for delayed activities.

  • Provide early warning of potential schedule delays and identify required corrective actions.

  • Monitor schedule interfaces between engineering disciplines, construction packages, procurement activities, and commissioning.

  • Track key project milestones, contractual milestones, access dates, approvals, and handover requirements.

  • Monitor long-lead procurement activities and their impact on construction and project completion.

  • Coordinate with Procurement teams to track material and equipment delivery dates.

  • Integrate design deliverables and approvals into project schedules.

  • Track engineering submissions, reviews, approvals, and design release dates.

  • Monitor construction productivity and progress against planned targets.

  • Develop progress measurement systems and activity weightings where required.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly schedule updates and progress reports.

  • Develop and maintain S-curves, progress curves, histograms, dashboards, and schedule performance reports.

  • Perform schedule variance analysis and identify root causes of delays.

  • Conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA), delay analysis, and schedule impact assessments as required.

  • Support Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and claims with planning information.

  • Coordinate with Commercial and Contracts teams on schedule-related claims and variations.

  • Assess the time impact of design changes, variations, RFIs, technical issues, and stakeholder requirements.

  • Maintain schedule risk registers and support quantitative and qualitative schedule risk assessments.

  • Participate in schedule risk workshops and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Support project management with forecasting of key completion dates and milestones.

  • Maintain accurate schedule records, baselines, updates, narratives, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with project procedures and contractual requirements.

Airport / Infrastructure & Airfield Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor schedules for airport terminals, airfield infrastructure, runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, utilities, and external works.

  • Coordinate complex interfaces between airside and landside construction activities.

  • Integrate airport operational constraints, access restrictions, permits, shutdowns, and phased construction requirements into the schedule.

  • Monitor interfaces between infrastructure, utilities, buildings, MEP systems, and aviation systems.

  • Develop detailed schedules for major civil and infrastructure works including earthworks, pavement, drainage, utilities, and roads.

  • Coordinate construction sequencing for critical airfield activities.

  • Track design and authority approvals that impact airport and airfield construction.

  • Monitor commissioning, testing, integrated testing, and operational readiness activities.

  • Integrate handover, documentation, training, and Taking-Over requirements into the project schedule.

Planning & Progress Control

  • Establish robust progress measurement and reporting systems.

  • Develop activity-level progress rules and ensure consistent progress assessment.

  • Track planned versus actual progress and identify performance trends.

  • Monitor manpower, equipment, productivity, and production rates against planned requirements.

  • Prepare progress dashboards and management reports.

  • Analyze productivity trends and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support forecasting of project completion dates based on current performance.

  • Ensure schedule updates are supported by accurate progress evidence.

Schedule Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports.

  • Provide reporting on:

    • Planned vs Actual Progress

    • Critical Path

    • Milestone Status

    • Schedule Variance

    • Lookahead Activities

    • Engineering Progress

    • Procurement Progress

    • Construction Progress

    • Commissioning Progress

    • Recovery Actions

    • Schedule Risks

    • Key Constraints

  • Prepare detailed schedule narratives explaining major variances and corrective actions.

  • Provide schedule information and analysis to Project Management and senior leadership.

  • Present planning performance and recovery strategies during project review meetings.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience on major construction, infrastructure, airport, or multidisciplinary projects.

  • Strong experience developing and managing complex integrated project schedules.

  • Proven experience across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover phases.

  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 is required.

  • Strong experience with schedule analysis, critical path analysis, progress measurement, and delay analysis.

  • Experience with Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and Extension of Time (EOT) assessments is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, productivity, and resource requirements.

  • Experience working with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and Subcontractors.

  • Experience on major airport / airfield projects is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of project controls, change management, and schedule risk management.

  • Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
