Compensation: $122,200 - $145,600 / year
We are seeking a motivated Leader to join our growing Nevada and California environmental teams — someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality work, enjoys solving complex environmental challenges, and thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment. Based in our Reno office, this role offers a blend of in-office, field, and hybrid work alongside peers across multiple locations. The Ideal Candidate

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including transportation, civil engineering, planning, surveying, geotechnical, landscape architecture, and environmental professionals—to review site plans, assess projects, and develop solutions that minimize environmental impacts.
- Conduct site visits, collect field data, and perform biological and aquatic surveys to support environmental analysis and reporting.
- Lead and prepare environmental documentation and technical reports in compliance with NEPA, CEQA, and TRPA requirements.
- Navigate environmental planning and permitting processes by coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies and securing necessary regulatory approvals.
- Prepare permit applications, monitor construction activities, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and design specifications throughout project lifecycles.
- Provide environmental guidance to internal teams, stay current on regulatory changes, and support informed project decision-making.
- Support project delivery through research, scoping, and development of proposals and budgets.
- Build and maintain client relationships, contribute to business development efforts, and help secure new work by assembling teams, preparing proposals, and pursuing project opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, biology, ecology, or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in environmental planning and permitting or related work.
- Working knowledge of key environmental regulations (e.g., ESA, CWA, NEPA, CEQA, TRPA, NDEP).
- Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
- Effectively manage project budgets and schedules, staff, subconsultants, multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
- Experience with GPS/GIS and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varied and sometimes challenging environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
