Requirements

Serve as Senior Planner for environmental and land planning assignments responsible for the preparation of master plans, land use permit applications, and environmental assessment/EIS documents. Assists in project management including budget and timeline



Essential Duties (Major Responsibilities/Activities)

Responsible for:

  • Technical writing, analysis and interpretation for environmental assessments, EIS and related reports in compliance with HRS Chapter 343 and NEPA requirements.
  • Preparation of land use permit application materials, and assistance filing with government agencies.
  • Prepare land use master plan materials, including (collection of research materials and compile report data, evaluation of research materials for applicability, preparation of graphic concepts, and coordination report completion, production and distribution).
  • Determination of regulatory requirements for specific projects.
  • Support and participate in community involvement programs.
  • Participation in community, client, government and project team presentations.

Ability to:

  • Traverse off island for periodic site visits and meetings
  • Traverse uneven terrain and walk through project sites
  • Lift 15 pounds

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Qualified candidates must have a BS/BA in environmental planning, urban planning, environmental science, engineering and/or equivalent degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
  • 6+ years of experience strongly preferred with at least 4 years of recent work experience in Hawaii planning processes and regulations.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Writing samples will be required at time of interview.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and process complex technical information and materials.
  • Can conduct direct source research techniques, including technical reference documents, government regulations and maps.
  • Coordinate effectively with government representatives, project consultants and client representatives.
  • Proactively engage with Principals and G70 team members to drive progress on tasks.
  • Ability to use of sound discretion and independent judgment.
  • Self-motivated/self-directed.

Compensation $70,000 - $112,750
