Salary Range:
$111,700- $132,100 USD Annually
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
What you will be doing:
As a Senior Planner, you will own the creation, alignment, and execution of master production schedules across a complex global footprint—including multiple plants, brands, and product families within a high-mix/low-volume automotive environment. You will ensure that demand, capacity, materials, and operational constraints are fully synchronized to support on-time delivery, optimized inventory levels, and overall supply chain readiness. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership and proactive communication with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, R&D, and international manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities:
- Master Scheduling & Production Planning

- - Develop, maintain, and publish the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for multiple manufacturing locations and product lines.

- - Analyze and validate demand forecasts, customer orders, and new product launch requirements to ensure alignment with capacity and material availability.

- - Convert the MPS into actionable shop floor schedules, ensuring adherence to takt time,capacity constraints, and labor requirements.

- - Monitor schedule performance and drive corrective actions to achieve >95% schedule adherence.

- MRP / ERP System Management

- - Execute daily/weekly reviews of MRP signals, ensuring accurate planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, BOM accuracy, routings).

- - Maintain high levels of ERP data integrity to support reliable planning outputs.

- - Analyze MRP/MPS exceptions and initiate timely actions to mitigate shortages or excesses.

- Capacity, Inventory & Material Planning

- - Conduct short-, mid-, and long-term capacity planning across multiple international sites including labor, machinery, tooling, and supplier capacity.

- - Balance supply and demand to support high-mix/low-volume production models with minimal disruption.

- - Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, subassemblies, and finished goods to achieve >95% customer fill rate.

- - Lead root-cause analysis for supply constraints and implement sustainable corrective actions.

- Cross-functional Collaboration

- - Partner with Production Managers and Plant Supervisors to optimize production flow, reduce changeovers, and improve throughput for low volume, high variety products.

- - Work closely with Engineering and R&D to support new product introduction planning and prototype/PPAP scheduling.

- - Communicate supply risks, recovery plans, and mitigation strategies to leadership in a clear, concise manner.

QualificationsRequirements:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and master scheduling skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Power BI or similar tools.
- Expertise with ERP/MRP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, QAD, Infor, or similar).
- Strong understanding of supply/demand alignment, capacity planning, and production control fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to simplify and articulate complex planning scenarios.
- Problem-solver with the ability to act quickly to prevent production disruptions.
- Basic understanding of import/export operations and customs compliance.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
